    I loathe libertarians more than any other group on the face of the earth. It's not that they are wrong. They don't even rise to wrongness. They are passive-aggressive blackheads who drone on about non-aggression principles while blindly wreaking havoc every time they open their traps.

    The manichean individualist/collectivist duality is their little hobby horse, and they have milked its limited explanatory powers for all its worth, and beyond. Libertarian are the functional equivalents of autistic children at a birthday party. You have to watch them very closely.

    Oh, I'm far "worse" than a libertarian, my totalitarian, state collectivist friend, I'm an evil anarchist who would prefer to allow nature to take its course...

    versus condemning humans to a meaningless, artificially supported life of begging for crumbs from authoritarian, paternalistic governments headed up by power hungry egoists and narcissistic sociopaths acting in "their best interests" ;)

    A better comparison would be to the anti slavery crowd 400 years ago. They were too far ahead of their time to see meaningful change in their lifetime.
