Destruction of our military forces

Cut the military in half. Form a new BRAC to close overseas bases, eliminate the F35, mothball or sell half the carrier fleet. Then make our mission TO ONLY DEFEND OUR SHORES AS WELL AS PROVIDE A SMALL FORCE TO USE WITH OTHER ALLIES TO DEFEND MUTUAL INTERESTS. We could then properly fund the VA, create a PROFESSIONAL military and have a lot of money left over to reduce our debt.

 

So in your mind and an op-ed in the moonietimes, bankrupting the country is the "foundation" of the nation?

Protection by the Federal gov't ? Like the military response during and after 9./11 or lack thereof?

Like Federal response during Katrina? It is no secret that the American military is made for Power Projection, not defense of American people.

Highly educated and highly trained. It should be harder to get in the military than it is any state college

 

IIRC, the average military recruit is in fact better educated than the average person from their age peer group.

As for training, American military personnel are well trained though thanks to massive budget cuts, training has suffered in recent years.

 

Cut the military in half and boost entry requirements higher

 

You'll have to pay them a lot more per person if you boost entry requirements.

Your projected savings might well melt away very quickly.

Especially when you consider that extremely high quality recruits might well balk at the idea of flying combat aircraft that's 40 years old and having to ride 25 year old armored vehicles.

 

Plenty will want the job if only because it will be much safer. Cut personnel in half and the savings are substantial

 

How will it be much safer? You said nothing about cutting overseas commitments or deployments.

Obama treats America's military like garbage when they are in, and afterwards he treats veterans like garbage.

The world is more dangerous today than it was 8 years ago.

Our military is far smaller.

The paradox is that destroying our military and filling it with Obama's SJW's is that it means its more likely to be in combat.

 

It needs to be smaller by half and just defend our shores.

 

You don't get to decide what our military defends. Even at its present size its short. Lefties did this.

As far as Johnson's "invasion," I didn't like the way he set it up, HOWEVER, there was this agreement called SEATO (South East Asian Treaty Organization, 1954). We were among several signatories along with South Vietnam and stated we would defend them if they were attacked. It was similar to NATO. You don't hear anyone talking about that now. If we don't keep our word, or back up what we say, then we end up like Obama's foreign policy where no one takes you seriously and therefore less safe.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Johnson's actions.

Liberals want airmen to dress in drag.

Liberals want soldiers to dessert in combat because it's serving the United States with honor and distinction.

Liberals want sailors to allow their patrol boats to be captured on the high seas because Article ll of the Code of Conduct isn't politically correct.

Liberals want physical and academic standards to be lowered so morons and Pillsbury Doughboys can serve in the military.

Liberals want all promotions in the military to be based upon race, ethnicity, gender and sexual preference because the military is to white, to many hetrosexual men serving in the military who can fight on the battlefield and win battles isn't politically correct.

Liberals want to force political correct rules of engagement on our combat troops that favor the enemy and cause U.S. soldiers and Marines to bleed and die.

Liberals want to use the military for social engineering for the same reason as above.

Liberals want to remove all urinals from all military bases and from all Navy ships because urinals are sexist and not politically correct.

Conservatives want to send our soldiers to new and exciting places and meet interesting and exotic people and be killed by them. Especially when they personally won't be going

 

I have news for you, even today the Army, Navy and Air Force are to small to defend our shores, that's why they are deployed ten thousands miles away from our shores so we don't have to defend our shores.

After Clinton's over downsizing of our military during the 1990's there's just one ANG squadron of 19 F-15's who's responsibility is the air defense of the entire state of California.

I'm sure you have heard the question asked after 9/11, where were our fighters on 9/11 to intercept the four hijacked aircraft ? You have to ask former President Clinton.

 

I have news for you. You are flat out wrong. Half or current military could do the job nicely
