Everyone knows that Obama can give good speeches.

Obama is also a very busy man, he has to give speeches every day, on top of all the other commitments a president has.

So, can't he be excused for a day when he probably wasn't prepared for the speech, because there was too much other stuff on the desk?

Everyone of us has an off day every once in a while, be it that we are not feeling well, or have a cold, or are just plain tired.

I'd like to see those criticize Obama for this issue go up in front of cameras every day giving speeches. If they'd do only 10% as good as Obama is doing, they'd be great.

 

I have an even tougher audience that I give speeches in front of six hours every day. And i dont have the benefit of an entire legion of people doing all kinds of prep for me from lighting to speech correction to makeup to anything else out there. So yeah, perhaps the expectations for someone whose job expectations include talking without stuttering, something we've documented often enough here. And thats on top of his stans exulting him as some kind of messianic figure.

You have a tougher audience than the president of the US? That's hard for me to believe. Do you give 6 new speeches every day? Because if the president keeps repeating himself, people like you would sure pick up on it and scream about it. Somehow, I feel that you are exaggerating.

BTW: I teach large classes as well, so I know all about public speaking, and that it becomes harder when every single word you say is scrutinized (some of my large classes are videotaped). And, believe me, I have had days when I didn't sleep much because the little ones kept me up all night that I am not proud of my lecture performance. Or days, where I didn't prepare well, because I was just too busy with other stuff. So, I don't envy the president and I don't blame him when he has an off day.

 

Sure I have a tougher audience: teenagers. Three to six different lectures a day. And i have to be on-point all the time or they'll call me out on it. Good grief, last week I used the word "ain't" and the kids told me that wasn't a real word. And Lord help me if i started stuttering, even if i hadnt slept well the night before.

Nevertheless, the thread really isnt about either of us, its about O. And hes simply not the god of public speaking eithe he or his fanboys think he is.

 

I never said he is the god of a speaker. However, if you are in front of an audience every day, you probably can be understanding of someone having an off day, especially when they have 100s of other things on their agenda and mind that us regular citizens do not have to deal with.

P.S.: I still don't think a audience of teenagers is as tough as the press sharks or the political opponents, who only wait for a misspoken word that they can repeat ad nauseum to make the president look bad.

Race relations are actually going to be much better after Obama leaves office because "blacks" are going to realize that the "black" president didn't give any more of a tinkers damn for them than any other politician.
The big lie is breaking down in the face of reality.
It's like a young person's idolization of government until they get their first paycheck and see all the taxes.
It's like the touchy feely garbage they try to instill in those little minds full of mush in America's public schrewels.
It dissipates very quickly when they get their first job.
