Would the West be well advised to adopt the Muslim view of women as chattel?

That would depend on how far into the past you go.

The Goddesses ruled for 20 thousand years before the Bronze age. That was about when the War Gods were invented and fortified cities began to be built.

Seems that men decided that it was better to war continually instead of living in peace with women being raised above men.

I hear you but the West may have given women too much freedom.

I picked this up and am thinking slightly differently. I have always been a liberal left but it is making me think we may need to move to the right to some extent.

Your numbers are out of line but that is not surprising given the research you did not do.

Any society that excludes half of their best and brightest people from participation will fail. Especially when competing against other societies that do not do such a foolish thing.

Again, look at the middle east. Israel compared to pretty much any other country in the middle east.

Repetition is boring and you do not seem to see which groups are taking over which countries in the E U.

Our best and brightest are fewer over time given the quality of children all our single family households are producing.

Haha! I would certainly rather live by the sword than subjugate myself to the rule of women, no matter how civilized that option might be.

Yes, the people we are producing are pathetic by any reasonable definition. Without some kind of massive cataclysm to cleanse our society, we are doomed to a pretty (*)(*)(*)(*)ty world, though I'm sure material wealth will be present in abundance.

Economic power and political influence are two different things. Additionally, women simply aren't anywhere near as capable as men at the higher levels, and this will always be the case.

Disgusting. I can't believe we're in the 21st century, but 1.5 billion people haven't got the memo.

Interesting, so we should out breed the Muslim countries.

My general view of women, aside from this O.P. which is more to speak of Islam and women as compared to Western views, is that the law of the sea should be brought to the land and that women and children should be put above men.

That may be changing due to Toxic Feminism and women using the state and dole for the maintenance of their single family homes instead of having a husband.

It is possible that Toxic Masculinity is forcing that but that does not take away from the lousy single parent stats we have.

I hear you yet many on the left are still saying that Islam, a religion of war, is a religion of peace.

If Trump is elected, it is because the left is not thinking straight.

Whatever female wants to go on the dole for support because men around here do not have the sense of duty to family and their children that they should have.

So all single mothers are on welfare? And they desire a "government handout" more than finding a man who will love and commit to them for life?

You really don't see the misogyny in that....do you?

Nice argument. Tell you what, you can prove it to yourself. Go look at what women accomplish in science or art and then come back to me with your evidence that women are just as capable as men. I'd love to see it.

Men and women are different. Not everyone is equal in every domain. Deal with it. There are things women excel at, but they don't fall under the category of great scientific accomplishments.

It should take you about five minutes to realize that most of the great things that have been accomplished have been accomplished by men. Since universal suffrage, that has barely changed. There aren't as many female geniuses as there are men. This is something you'll all have to live with.

Again, you are an idiot. Yes, men an women are different. Women can bare offspring, but can't manage to do it by themselves(yet anyway).

Scientific accomplishments? Sure, but the difference is, historically, women were generally excluded from many of these fields. However, here are a few that rose to the top of their field anyway.

    1) Marie Currie - By the way, first PERSON to be awarded a Nobel Prize in TWO different fields, Physics and Chemistry.

    2) Virgina Apgar - Pioneer in anesthesiology, specifically for infants and newborn children.

    3) Laura Bassi - Professor of Anatomy and Physicist.

    4) Ruth Benerito - Holder of many patents for processes to treat fibers used in clothing. Invented the method for permanent press clothing.

    5) Annie Cannon - Noted astronomer, multiple discoveries in her field.

    6) Gerty Cori - Furthered the understanding of the body's metabolism of sugars and carbohydrates. Defined how illnesses result where metabolism was disrupted, and the role of enzymes in that process.

    7) Eva Crane - Apiologist, but originally studied mathematics and earned doctorate in nuclear physics.

    8) Gertrude Bell Elion - Discovered and created medications for HIV/AIDS, herpes, immunity disorders, and leukemia. Shared a Nobel Prize in medicine.

    9) Alice Evans - Bacteriologist, discovered that brucellosis, a disease in cows, could be transmitted to human beings, especially to those who drank raw milk. Which later led to Pasteurization

    10) Dian Fossey - Surely you don't need to be told who that is...

    11) Rosalind Franklin - biophysicist, physical chemist and molecular biologist, was key in discovering the helical structure of DNA.

    12) Jane Goodall - Again, you should already know who this woman is...

Would you like more? Or would you rather to continue life as an uninformed idiot?

Well, if you can't understand it, I guess you're lost. the point is that it is neither stupid nor wrong to suggest that men and women differ in their talent profiles. This is a fact that anyone with even a morsel of historical knowledge or common sense should understand.

Great. You found 12 women, out of the tens of thousands of great male scientists in history. If you want to include Du Chatalet and Hypatia as great philosophers, let's do that so you can get to 14! And yes, I am familiar with those people. I think it's wonderful that talented women are able to do great things; however, it is totally beside the point. The point is that, relatively, they aren't as cut out for science as men are. If you want a more modern example, where there are no excuses, you should be aware of the great disparities in the hard sciences right now. Despite equal opportunity, they are doing no where near as much as men are--this is a fact.

Men and women are cognitively different, and you need to accept that. Women are better at some things, and men are better at others. When it comes to fields in which a high level of logical reasoning and analytical skills are required, men take the prize by leaps and bounds, and this will always be the case.

No, I gave you a list of 12, there are thousands of them. But with your demonstrated ignorance, I knew that anything over 12 would be more than you can process.

You are an idiot. I'm done.

    Have an ordinary day.

No, you are wrong. For every accomplished female scientist there are many males who have done that and more. Should I infer that you believe men and women, then AND now, have equal accomplishments in math and science? Please make that statement :roflol:
