Most good guys with a gun would be carrying pistols and this was a sniper from an elevated position. Running away would be the best option, he's out gunned.

I own firearms for one purpose only (well two actually, number two being that they are fun to shoot), and that is to protect my life and the lives of people I care for. Call me self-centered, but I would never draw unless it was a case of "me or him". Like it or not, but this runs contrary to the NRA stance that a "good guy" with a gun can prevent gun violence in all it's forms, and, therefore, we should all carry guns. I imagine that I'm like most level headed gun owners in that regard.

 

I'm sure your point is valid so why not produce some public service messages on television that teaches young people how to behave when a cop stops them or questions them?

Easy. Decrease government assistance to balance out the tax payer dollars. It's not like you'll need 500 snipers. With strategically placed snipers, they could have seen the muzzle flash and known where to shoot. Police on the ground, and good guys with guns can handle the ground shooters.
