Netenyahu just announced his visit to Australia in early 2017 and this petition already has 1000s of signatures. Australia is letting the world know how they feel and this is yet another sign of the awakening so sorely needed. I encourage any of our Aussie posters to sign this petition. See this is the problem with groups like the ADL - even though the leadership of these new racist groups generally claims that they support Judeo-Christian values and are not anti-Semitic. A racist is a racist - so these racist groups like the EDL,ADL, Pediga etc are bound to attract supporters - and leadership now apparently - that is anti-Semitic. Still - it is quite odd that the ADL ( which is a tiny group of racist morons by the way ) is on the same page as Jew hating Muslims. Australia and Israel have a strong and shared history that runs all the way back to the famous Australian light horse cavalry charge on the Turks/Ottoman at Beersheba. The great Australian cavalry charge at Beersheba set off a chain of events that led to the creation of modern Israel and it is an important event in the shared history of our two nations. Australia has had a Jewish Governor General - Sir Isaac Isaacs, and he is just one of many great Jews that are an important part of Australian history. Australia is one of the least anti-Semitic nations on earth and this ridiculous and extremist anti-Semtic petition does not represent the thinking of mainstream Australia in any way. One of my favourite Jews in Australian history is Albert Rosenfeld. Rosenfeld represented Australia in the sport of Rugby League as a member of the national team - the Australian Kangaroos back in 1908. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Rosenfeld Five-Eighth is a playmaker position similar to the position of quarterback in American football. Rosenfeld was Five-Eighth of the Australian Kangaroos. The anti-Semitic petition has no place in Australian society and in my opinion it should be considered to be a form of anti-Semitic hate speech. We have laws in Australia that are supposed to prevent racial vilification and as an Aussie citizen I want the authorities to do something about the people behind this racist petition. Jews are welcome in Australia - especially Bibi.
It is my opinion the image of Netanyahu necessarily provokes motional responses from other posters, rather than civil discussion. The opening post of a thread is supposed to set the topic and the tone of the discussion. It should contain a member's opinions or questions with sufficient elaboration to establish a foundation for respectful discussion and debate. I would argue the image of Netanyahu and the subsequent comments prevent the ability to provide a respectful discussion and most certainly to not provide any issues to debate. I would argue the words insult Netanyahu and necessarily incite further insults against Netanyahu.
ADL as in anti-defamation league? Oh. And they are flipping out because of the petition? Oh. So they should. Like I said - we have laws to prevent this kind of hate speech and the authorities should do something about this. Cant trust the Australian Defense League (ADL) though. They are racists.
