Wow. It appears some folks don't really want to work for the current administration. In this case career FSO's, who work for either Republicans or Democrats, but I guess not Trumps. Considering Trump's diplomacy through Twitter rages and conspiracy theories, who can blame them? I think that working for Trump you would waver between thinking you were working for a tyrant or someone inherently unqualified. Or perhaps both. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...nt-team-just-resigned/?utm_term=.0fbfcea1b1de Then suddenly on Wednesday afternoon, Kennedy and three of his top officials resigned unexpectedly, four State Department officials confirmed. Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond and Ambassador Gentry O. Smith, director of the Office of Foreign Missions, followed him out the door. All are career foreign service officers who have served under both Republican and Democratic administrations.
Trump said he was going to drain the swamp. Apparently his statement might not be entirely accurate. It looks like the swamp is draining itself.
It's logical to assume they created enough dirt that couldn't be swept under the carpet it was only a matter of time before they were gone anyway. Cya.
Noooo lol That only happens if they don't hire people to take their place... and they might have to hire even more people to fill the knowledge gap...
I can't see this as anything but good news. Foggy Bottom needed an enema, and it looks like they gave it to themselves.
The State Departments entire senior management team just resigned No issue here. Nothing wrong with this. An occasional forest fire is good to clean out the 'dead wood' and scrub.
If this is the same senior staff that oversaw the Russian reset and the Iran deal, I'm pretty sure their time was limited anyway.
Look the swamp is draining itself who wants to make a bet these senior political hack state department officials will be hopping on the next available flight to a non extradition country with the billion that reportedly went missing at the State Department
Trump administration asks top State Department officials to leave http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/26/polit...d-to-leave-by-trump-administration/index.html Trump said "You Are Fired"
I just read on CNN Trump said their services were no longer needed and asked them to resign which they did. I can see a lot more of this happening in other government departments. Any business in the US has long practiced this procedure. In my 30 year career, about every so many years our company would "Drain the Swamp" of employees who were not working to their full potential or were not a good fit for their position. It's about time this happened in Washington! It's way overdue!
