Judge Donnelly was granting a stay that would prevent the government from deporting immigrants currently detained in airports around the country.

The stay does not strike down the full executive order. It does not allow people to come to the US who are currently abroad.
    http://www.vox.com/2017/1/28/14427656/trump-ban-lawsuit-stay

Good ruling if you asked me, people who are in the US legally should not be harassed, let alone deported, the undesirbles abroad should stay abroad.

Court have made their ruling... now let them enforce it lol.

In any case this is a NY court, meaningless...this will be upheld by normal courts.

    It's a federal court.
And no, federal workers are not going to break the law just because Trump wants them to. He's not King.

Well that should make for some interesting airport experiences. I think I'll go watch the terminal again, and try to imagine Tom Hanks wearing a burka.

Yeah, judge was appointed by Obama so no surprise there. The order is temporary and Trump is now in charge of bench appointments. This is mostly symbolic the ban will survive. Trump took an oath to protect America and took that seriously, it just makes sense to deny entry to those who hate us.

    Just laugh.

It's like the guy who is bragging how "in love the waitress is with him" because she smiled at him.

MSM headlines are the chum that makes all the retards come to the surface.

I've yet to see a globalist canon firing anything but blanks. I keep clicking on topics, thinking there eventually has to be something, but... nope. Haha

Who appointed the judge has nothing to do with it.
She is interpreting the law to read that Trump does not have the right to sign a blanket order deporting immigrants from certain countries.
Trump is not King. But don't tell him - he'll have you deported.

Just one liberal/progressive activist judge who was nominated by a community organizer.

FYI: The judge is also a nasty woman.

The judge isn't interpreting the law, activist judges legislate from the bench, it's what they always do. That's why Obama nominated the "nasty woman."

    "Activist judges". "Fake news." "Rigged"
Rightie excuses when things don't go their way.

So what part of the judge's ruling do you think was not legally sound?

Not one person from any of the 7 countries banned by Trump has killed an American in at least 40 years.
If they hate us, they sure aren't doing a very good job of acting on it.

    Trumpiste logic is simple:

    1. Trump is the law.

    2. A ruling the contradicts Trump is therefore illegal.

These people are constitutionalists in name only. Most of them haven't even read the Constitution.

So the ruling didnt block anything of the executive order then. The ex order doesn't require deporting anyone. It prevents them from comming into the US only. Nothing was won or lost. It is just a rally cry or the judge was just creating a fake win to protect herself.

The constitution never matters when the past presidents are in office.

    Why does it matter now?

The activist judge in collusion with the ACLU didn't mention the Constitution or any law that was being violated.

The judge was legislating from the bench on emotions. That's part of being a liberal.

Maybe the nasty woman judge thought it would be a crime if these detained foreigners would miss SNL tonight.

These are not American citizens but foreigners.

Judicial activism refers to judicial rulings suspected of being based on personal or political considerations rather than on existing law.

She's interpreting the law through a liberal prism and ignoring the fact that the president does have a lot of power over who comes into the country. Anyone who entered the country illegally may be deported. They are protected by the Constitution in that they are guaranteed due process but at that time the burden is on them to prove the validity of their being here and if they don't prevail in that they are deported. If an individual has a green card and even permanent residency status but lacks citizenship they may also be deported if they have committed a crime. Anyone entering the country illegally has committed a crime and on just that may be and should be deported therefore the president has broad powers with regards to deportation. You should be thanking Donald Trump for doing his job instead of (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)ing about things that are no longer politically relevant. It was liberal Democrats that created this problem by rolling out the red carpet and ham stringing ICE and the Border Patrol and finally someone is actually doing something about it. Obama made a shambles of America, Trump is just trying to clean it up and will no matter how much you complain.

It always has to me. Conservatives have always shoved their religion down our throats while claiming to love the Constitution, and now they want to play dictator.

    - - - Updated - - -

Men like Washington and FDR and Lincoln were liberals. Men like Bush and Trump are conservatives. Shocker.

FDR and Lincoln were also nationalist.

Would that make FDR a Nationalist Socialist ?

You don't point out which Bush you are referring too. But if you are referring to G.W. Bush, he was kinda of a nation building type so that would put him in lockstep with liberals.

The part where it says that people who have not yet entered the country deserve the right to due process and equal protections.

Basically, the executive order was signed while a bunch of flights from those affected countries were already in the air. They landed, and the immigration officers declined issuing them visas to enter the country. It's just an emergency order, and will be pushed up to a higher court while those guys get to cool their buns in the departure terminal area for a few days or months.

Do they have the right to equal protection under our laws when they haven't even officially entered the country? I'm not sure, but it could well turn out that they might get tired of airport food and sleeping in the same pair of clothes while waiting for the slow hands of the court to work this all the way to the supreme court.

which will then refuse to hear it until Scalia can be replaced...
