NO, you do NOT get it. Stop trying to frame your ignorance as my problem to solve, lest you misstate my views.

ROFL! It *is* your problem to solve since you are the one that supports the red v blue split!

Of course that is the case. But imports also involve payment when crossing the border of a country. It's called a tariff.

And the blue states *are* going to PAY.

I speak Spanish fairly well. Democrats have only really run the state for the last decade or so. You may be too young to remember the long line of Republican Governors starting with Reagan in the 60s on up to the Duke in the 90s. Our water problems are due to antiquated water rights laws going back to the 1850s. One family alone, the Resnicks, own 15-20% of all the water in the Kings River because an ancestor bought up land near Fresno and the once large Tulare Lake. They still own those rights. If you live in NorCal, you might want to rejoice that you get subsidized by the rest of us. I know we all love our entire state including those in the dreamland of Jeffersonia or whatever you folks call your utopia. You right wingers in California need to grasp an essential truth. You will never be in charge but at least you can be assured that we will take care of you, after all, who do you think buys all that pot you grow?

We maynot find out. Trump could be the last Republican President in our lifetimes. Of course, I'm not as confident of that as I used to be. I thought George Bush was going to be the last Republican President. I guess it depends on when actual demographics of the country catch up to what the Democrats think are the actual demographics.

Delusional as in how Texas wanted to secede from the union too right? Geez, they must be a bunch of conservatives throwing a temper tantrum there too right?

Do you suppose the two to be equivalent? Should I, I would agree with you. No? So, what was the point of the post?

The point is you've only called out the left on secession but it seems you gave the right a pass. Why wouldn't the two be equivalent?

There's more of us, the right would have to leave. Ironically the only places in the world that would take you are in the Middle East.

I'm about as liberal as they come but we need to stop being so divisive. I live in a very red area of a very blue state and I love my neighbors. We all have value to this country and what differences we have are what makes this country great.
For instance I get the value of being PC but I would hate living in a society that is unchallengingly PC.
I understand the need for sensible gun rights...but I certainly don't want guns banned.
I stand strongly for abortion rights but I fully understand that some people don't (they need to learn to let other people make their own decisions)

    and on and on.

Oh yea...I have a problem with illegal immigration but I want a solution that actually WORKS and isn't designed solely to rile up the base and let the situation continue

There is not more of you. Lefties comprise at most 20% or so of the population.

I don't care what you're reasoning is, I just agree that blue states should be their own countries. We can even build a private road between Illannoy and California so we don't have to worry about border stuff. I'm sure Illannoy would prosper if not for pesky red states mucking it up.

It's not quite that simple. California has a lot of red counties so obviously you can't take those with you, nor the federal lands. In fact, the actual state of California is part of the union now. You might be able to work out some kind of louisiana purchase deal for bakersfield, maybe.

I know, I don't expect it to ever really happen. In fact, I'm sure that's the last thing Illannoy wants at this point. After they've squeezed everything they can from Illannoy residents, whose door do you think they're gonna knock on next?

It would never be remotely workable but I'm curious what these arrogant "red states" will do without a military?

Especially when North Korean ICBMs start splashing down just off the California coast and they demand several billion dollars in "assistance" in exchange for stopping.

Most of the hyper Liberals I am friends with agree with you and of course the moderate ones.

It is just the hyper partisans that can't do anything other than name call that are the problem.

Squeeky wheel keeps gettin the news coverage

This is a great idea. I can't way to see the looks on GOP supporters faces when they realize they no longer get to mooch off he government. You know, since all but 3 red states take it far in federal aid than they pay in federal taxes

    This means...
No more federal tax subsidies holding up the Texas oil industry.
No more federal aid for child rapist scum like the Duggers with their dozens of kids.
    No more federal aid period.

Seemingly, the written word seems difficult...... The conversation wasn't about what the right was doing was it? I then agreed that should it also be more comprehensive, and include those on the right who would also call for succession, that I would have made the same comment. See how this works? So, half stepping now seems, well gratuitous given the agreement. So, it doesn't seem that I gave the right a pass, does it?
