Congress has 6 months to add a legal and politically acceptable option for these people, which is within their power to do.

You didn't say homeland. You said roots. Where is the definition of homeland? 17 yrs here vs 1 yr elsewhere, I'd say the 17 of 18 is homeland.

No, he enforced federal immigration law so some leftist judge legislating from the bench hit him with a contempt of court charge.............which by the way, was an oxymoron in that Arpaio was doing his duty.
The only fascist is looking at you in the mirror here.

Still can't figure out why you lost the election. Not surprised. Better have a good psychiatrist for 2020. You're gonna need it.

Trump seems to not like anything the first black President signed into law.... wonder why?

funny thing is, Trump agrees with Obama on this issue, but he just can't stand that Obama was the one that made it law

Our immigration laws need to be taken seriously. Liberals believe in open borders and health care for everyone. How's that supposed to work? You guys don't think about what unsustainable means. You guys don't think at all.
I'm glad that Arpaio was pardoned for enforcing our laws. We need to do away with liberal activist judges who legislate from the bench.

DACA was another democratic swindle. To make the DNC more appealing to Hispanic citizens, they pandered to non-citizens. DACA is temporary. It provided "dreamers" with unique opportunities to apply for permanent status without risk of deportation during the process. Instead, DACA recipients clung to the lies that democrats spewed, promising amnesty. Now Dems are corralling "dreamers" in their sanctuary cities, and undoubtedly that's a means of further exploitation.

Obama set these poor people up. He went around the law, around our constitution by an executive order. He set the stage for those poor people to get the carpet pulled from underneath them.

What Obama effectively did was to ignore congress and implement legislation by Fiat. One of the most unconstitutional things Obama did. And now? Folks are going to get booted. Back to countries that spawned them, back (ostensibly) to be reunited with their families that had to leave them here. I just can't get over the number of times democrats are the ones ripping kids out of their parents arms....

The marches today should be video taped. It will create a permanent record of those who are here illegally, so they can be asked to leave.

If Trump decides to end the program, likely he will demand that congress finally do their work, and pass legislation. If congress fails to act, that's on them, and the kids likely will be deported. But deported because the laws congress passed required it, not because of the sensibilities of one person.

If they were born here , they are citizens. DACA does not effect them. If they were brought here illegally by their parents, they need to leave - along with their parents. Your anger should therefore be directed at the parents.

we don't punish children for the actions of their parents, if this is the only country they know, it would be inhuman to send them to another country

your directing your anger at the children, but it should be at the parents

Deportation is not a punishment - it is a bus ride. I would punish the parents by tossing their under-the-table, I-9 violating, tax-evading, child-abusing asses in prison. But since I am a kind-hearted soul, I will graciously invite them to leave so they can join their children in their country of origin.

Interestingly a number of them seem to not be as dumb as Obama thought they were as I heard those very comments this morning from DACA marchers who were interviewed on NPR here in Los Angeles.

There's an Easy Solution to Trump's Threatened Cancellation of DACA. Is Congress Capable of Governing?

If various news reports are to be believed (update: new details are emerging), the White House will announce today that after a six-month delay, President Trump will rescind his predecessor's executive action known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which provides temporary and indefinite relief from the threat of deportation to a subset of illegal immigrants who were brought to America as children. There are rumblings that administration officials are still warning that early reporting over the weekend may not fully reflect the president's final decision on the matter (see the update above), but let's assume for the sake of this analysis that the broad strokes have been accurately conveyed. Here are the alleged details, via Politico's Eliana Johnson:

President Donald Trump has decided to end the Obama-era program that grants work permits to undocumented immigrants who arrived in the country as children, according to two sources familiar with his thinking. Senior White House aides huddled Sunday afternoon to discuss the rollout of a decision likely to ignite a political firestorm — and fulfill one of the president’s core campaign promises. The administration’s deliberations on the issue have been fluid and fast moving, and the president has faced strong warnings from members of his own party not to scrap the program. Trump has wrestled for months with whether to do away with the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals... In a nod to reservations held by many lawmakers, the White House plans to delay the enforcement of the president’s decision for six months, giving Congress a window to act, according to one White House official. But a senior White House aide said that chief of staff John Kelly, who has been running the West Wing policy process on the issue, “thinks Congress should’ve gotten its act together a lot longer ago.” White House aides caution that — as with everything in the Trump White House — nothing is set in stone until an official announcement has been made.

This, from Allahpundit, seems right: "[The dilemma] place Trump in a nasty political bind, forcing him to decide between defending Obama’s overreach in court and pissing off his base or canceling the program and being brutalized by the majority of the public that backs legal status for DREAMers. Left to his own devices, the president probably would have gone on quietly letting DACA operate. It’s Republican lawyers who forced this crisis, not him." True enough, but here we are.

Many Republicans support the DREAM Act, and many Democrats have signaled support for reform packages that entail substantially beefed-up enforcement measures. Sure, hardcore activists on both sides might howl, but this issue set seems nearly tailor-made for a mutually-acceptable resolution. Are our representatives capable of notching a popular, easy win? Don't count on it:.....snip~

BO the Peep changed DHS Policy and now Trump changes it back, and puts it where it belongs. Back on the plate of Congress. He is giving them plenty of time to do something called, "wait for it"......Governing.

Nothing wrong with that. Nor getting rid of BO peeps reach around.

The parents and children can live happily ever after in their country of origin - never to return to this land of opportunity they have so callously abused.
