Let me see, the NFL is 70% black, so I agree, where is the equality for the white and Hispanic players? Yeah, equality for all Americans.
Ah, so you believe that if you repeat something for long enough, it will become fact? Well, here's a fact for you: in 2016, police killed 258 black people nationwide. This is roughly a third of the number of black people killed in a single U.S. city at the hands of other black people during the same period. (Yes, the city being referred to here is Chicago, and the number of black people killed there in 2016 was 762). That being the case, how is it that racism is somehow the problem that NFL players are protesting? Clearly, this is groupthink run amok... Exactly. Thank you.
You can make the protest about whatever you like. The fact is that the NFL is completely inconsistent about how it treats infractions. A case in point. In August 2013, the league fined Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin $10,000 for wearing a t-shirt bearing the words “Operation Patience” during warmups before a preseason game. Reason? Against the rules: The ‘Operation Patience’ T-shirts are made by Adidas, and wearing Adidas on the field during pregame warmups is a no-no. NFL rules require players to wear clothing made by Nike, the league’s apparel partner. In September 2017, several players wore shirts bearing the slogan “I’m with Kap” (a nod to Colin Kaepernick) during pre-game warmups. How much were the players that are with Kap fined? Nada. I suppose because those shirts were made by Nike, not Adidas. So apparently freedom of speech is encouraged, so long as it doesn't run afoul of the NFL's business concerns. That's the level of stupidity we've reached. Perhaps if the Nike logo is placed on the flag, there wouldn't be a problem...
The communist and criminals in the streets are not new. Illegals have been in our streets for decades now. So have BLM Black Panthers and NOI just to name a few of the anti American gangs. Plus we have a swamp full of RINOs and other closet libs who vote against Trump add to that judges ruling from the bench and ignoring our laws. I don't like Trump because of his ultra liberal family but still glad the Killary didn't get in. That is oen blood thirsty evil piece of work. Torture death of Qudaffi was hilarious to that evil thing.
His base didn't turn on him. Look at them on this board alone. He tells them to stop supporting the NFL, and like dutiful children, they obey their master. The Trump base is a cross between the children who followed the Pied Piper and the poor slobs who followed Jim Jones to their deaths. Childlike and desperate at the same time.
What a foolish post. You really are desperate. Playing in the NFL is a question of skills, not skin color.
I agree, Seth. I said, "in their mind" because I think it is the wrong place, wrong time, too. But that isn't the issue, either. The issue is the President calling the black players sonsabitches, asking that they be fired, and asking Americans to boycott the football games. The issue is not what nine players out of nearly 1700 were doing in a peaceful protest. The issue is what the President said about the players and that is what caused all the commotion over the weekend.
Trump's bad week continued. He just fired his HHS secretary, Tom Price, for misuse of government funds. Please, no one tell me Price resigned. That would be the height of gullibility. I'm sure no one is that stupid. Trump hasn't nominated anyone for DHS secretary to replace John Kelly. Now he is short another cabinet member. These are the people who have been fired or quit the Trump administration. Some are beginning to wonder if Trump is having a hard time finding qualified people to fill positions. Being hired by Trump is beginning to look like the kiss of death. A person leaves his/her job, uproots the family, and for what? To be fired or discouraged a few months later.
I have no problem with the number of people Trump has fired. Other presidents would just let incompetence and arrogance slide. Good for Trump for thinking about the country first. I have hired a few people I thought would be good workers only to later have to fire them. So what?
You are comparing apples and oranges. It is almost as if you are justifying the killing of blacks by police because it is only a third of those killed in Chicago. Your reasoning is flawed. I want to get one thing straight. I disagreed with the nine black players who took a knee during the anthem. But I disagree even more with Trump's infantile and ludicrous remarks about those blacks. Now over 200 took a knee. Football teams didn't come on the field during the anthem. There were protests in the parking lots of football stadiums across the country, some violent. It won't end there. How long will this continue? All because of Trump. He created a crisis out of thin air and he doesn't have the brains to shut up about it.
I totally agree with you, but his base turned on him in the Alabama election. Ironically, they voted for a Trump-style candidate. Trump supported the establishment candidate. Go figure. Roy Moore, what a guy. A true Trump protege. Trump's base in the great state of Alabama pushed a lawless theocratic lunatic named Roy Moore one tiny step away from a seat in the United States Senate. Moore lost his job as chief justice of that state’s supreme court twice; on both occasions, he lost it by flouting the authority of the federal court system as though he were Orval Faubus in 1957. Moore believes that homosexual conduct should be illegal. If he gets elected, then the Republican Party ever more should be referred to as an extremist party. That, of course, is if we’re being honest about what’s really going on in this country in 2017.
So, you think trump had a rough week do ya? Aside from camping out on the internet, do you care to share with the forum, your accomplishments this past week? What are you doing to make the world a better place? We are well aware of your bitching and complaining, but tell us your contributions.
Firing people seems to be a pattern with Trump, and he is having a hard time filling the slots. His communications director -- he has gone through a few -- is a 29-year old pretty thing named Hope Hicks. That is the best he could get for such an important post? He still hasn't selected a person to replace Kelly at DHS. Now he is down another cabinet post. This is getting to be a problem.
Yup, and Trump lost. He must be getting used to defeat by now. The only major piece of legislation he has signed is a result of a deal he made with the Democrats.
