BuzzFeed reported on Friday that the NFL has opened an investigation into Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston. A female Uber driver alleges that Winston grabbed her between the legs in March 2016.


The woman, whom Buzzfeed identifies as Kate – she did not want her last name used for fear of backlash from fans and negative attention – has received a letter from Lisa Friel, the NFL’s special counsel for investigations, which she shared with the news outlet.


“The League has been informed that you may have been the victim of such a violation perpetrated by Tampa Bay Buccaneers player Jameis Winston,” the letter reads in part. “The league takes allegations of this nature very seriously and has opened an investigation into this matter.” . . .

Wes Goodman, who is the Republican state legislator for Ohio, is married to a woman who is assistant director of an annual anti-abortion rally known as March for Life.


The right-wing legislator, who pushed “family values”, was reportedly witnessed having sex with a man inside his office who was not employed by the legislator.


According to the Columbus Dispatch, the observer told Ohio House Chief of Staff Mike Dittoe what had happened on Tuesday afternoon. Mr Dittoe responded by telling House Speaker Republican Cliff Rosenberger who in turn met with Mr Goodman.


The 33-year-old, who has been branded the “conscience of the conservative movement”, resigned for “inappropriate conduct” shortly after the meeting took place. . . . .

In USA there are 747,000 registered sex offenders and another 230,000 incarcerated sex offenders -- 967,000 offenders overall. Many of them have been convicted on the accuser's word alone. Such convictions have been common since 1990s.

Music mogul Russell Simmons has been accused of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old girl following a casting call in 1991 as movie producer Brett Ratner allegedly watched and did nothing to help.


The allegations, published in The Los Angeles Times on Sunday, come a little more than a week after it was reported that both Simmons and Ratner were investigated by the Beverly Hills Police Department for a similar incident in 2001. It also follows at least eight women recently accusing Ratner of sexual assault.


Keri Claussen Khalighi, a fashion model at the time of the alleged 1991 incident, told the Times that she had gone back to Simmon’s New York apartment to watch a music video the men were working on. There, she said, her clothes were yanked off and Simmons made unwanted sexual advances.

She claims Stone wrote an audition scene especially for Gilbert that had her on her hands and knees saying, “Do me, baby.” She said Stone asked her to stage it and that she refused, and left the audition crying.

She claimed he humiliated her in the audition because she had “embarrassed him in a social situation.”
