Neaderthals had larger brains per their size than male homosapiens.

I guess the OPer forgot to mention from his own linked source:

"Adjusting for age, on average, they found that women tended to have significantly thicker cortices than men. Thicker cortices have been associated with higher scores on a variety of cognitive and general intelligence tests."

The FOLDINESS of the brain, is far moar important than simply brain size, or even that to weight ratio. The surface area seems to be most important.

Mens brains are FAR more keyed to visual. Women can weigh things better, and discuss them. This is the reason for the patriarchy. If women had no restrictions, they would wield considerable power, as those are leadership skills. Luckily we have femininity, to DESTROY all women as bitches, if they wield power.

My understanding is that over the last 20,000 years humans have lost brain volume by an amount equal to the size of a tennis ball.

Yet, indications seem to be that we made up for it in complexity.

Maybe women have slightly more complex brains!

Have you ever had an experience that might lead to that conclusion?

I don't think you bothered to read what they wrote

Either way I have a boy and a girl and find their differences quite interesting (the effects of testosterone and oestrogen on the brain). I have posted about this before... somewhere, the gist of it is basically her memory is much better than his, she's also much better with puzzles which indicate analysis, but his processing speed is faster and he can grasp very complicated concepts very quickly, with speed however comes impatience... lots of it. Both are very observant but she will identify more subtleties in her environment.

In myself I have noticed memory and analysis however when it comes to engineering issues I don't even try to keep up. Men and women are different I don't know why we feel the need to compete with one another.

It's only for political purposes, just as it is between Black and White, rich and poor, and so on. The world is difficult enough without dividing us into self interest groups.

Amen on the women v. men thing.

When it comes down to it, there is major variation from person to person. Plus, I'm pretty darn convinced that time spent in earnest on any capability will usually lead to being above average in that particular arena regardless of other factors.

We need to drop the women v men thing and recognize each other as individuals.

It isn't what I see on this board... I get the feeling that the average female poster here is more intelligent than the average male one...

Oh, and brain volume has nothing to do with intelligence. This is akin to phrenology (or something).

So large in fact that they had to open a branch office. Problem is the branch office does most of the thinking.

Most of the brain is primitive and no more advanced than that of a dinosaur. The cerebral cortext is where higher intelligence comes from. It forms sulci which give it increased mass at the same volume, which is why intelligence correlates to brain surface area, not volume.

Larger brain volume is meaningless if your education stinks

Well....do you feel triggered or something? Didn't he make a vile insult with a "you can't read" comment? Maybe I should have responded with a "you can't spell?"
