Republicans should use the "nuclear option," while at the same time Mitch McConnell informs Lindsey Graham and Rand Paul he will remove them from their committee chairs if they do not vote for a budget. This would give Republicans a true functional majority in the US Senate.

The way to deal with the Democratic Party now literally determined to HURT as many Americans and the United States as much as possible acting like ISIS terrorists (even deliberately supporting terrorists as the shutdown also will shutdown Homeland Defense, the FBI and other terrorism defenses) is to erase the relevancy of Democrats in the US Senate by making them the minority party they actually are by the voters.

The Democratic Party now is the #1 enemy of we-the-people (citizens), the US military and of the United States as a whole.

They could have used Reconciliation all along. Nothing was stopping them. They never needed ANY Dem votes if they all voted together.

THEY DON'T HAVE THE VOTES IN THEIR OWN PARTY

The GOP could if McConnell would stop pandering bad loser malcontent Republican Senators such as Graham and Paul. It should be pointed out that the Democrat-supporting few Republican Senators are all political LOSERS! taking out revenge against President Trump for beating them and against Republican voters.

It should be shouted by EVERY Republican: "Senator Lindsey Graham and Senator Rand Paul voted to cut off pay to our military personnel and to cut off medical care to our veterans and their families!"

This should continue, daily, thru each of their next primary elections.

Personally, I think President Trump should stand his ground. If he does, at least those Republicans who have switched to the Democrat's side will get blow out in the next primary.

BTW, why hasn't Senator McCain retired since he literally now is so medically is incapable of even appearing to cast a vote?

Or maybe the reps could start acting conservative and propose a budget with dramatically lower spending

What? That is already shouted a million times a day and has been shouted about all Republicans for decades. In fact, other than RUSSIA! RUSSIA! RUSSIA! that's all the Democratic Party has left.

Graham has NEVER proposed any budget cut and Rand Paul's tactic is like his father's, to just be the perpetual malcontent accomplishing absolutely nothing - ever. His father never accomplished anything, nor has his son. Ever. Just perpetual malcontents.

McConnell should remove both from chairing any committee and be put on the most irrelevant committees not as chairmen instead. Both are able to accomplish absolutely nothing and neither act like a Republican, but rather at war with Republicans. Maybe Schumer would put them on committees since they both generally support the Democrats in the actual effect of their votes.

McCain is a liberal. Arizona will simply vote in a liberal, since they are mostly populated by Californians and Illegal Immigrants who vote. The best thing they could do is to let the Dems crush their own party supporters. That's what they are doing. Most federal workers are liberals and won't get a paycheck.

trust me, if they could use Reconciliation, they would have.

something about the Senate rules prevents a Budget or Continuing Resolution from being passed through the Reconciliation process.

i have no problem with the Senate going to 51 votes for all legislation.

but the GOP wont do it cause they know they are 2 Senate seats away from losing such control. And the nation is slowly becoming more Moderate-Liberal, so their future is not looking bright.

So just be big spending pretend conservatives and you won't have to wear the label of malcontent. I see.

Nope. Looked it up. They could have used Reconciliation. They don't have enough votes. The same number of votes required if they exercise the nuclear option. 51. They missed that on the last vote by several.

I don't want McCain to retire. After he dies, I want his brain tumor removed and elected to the US senate. McCain's Brain Tumor is the leadership this country needs.

So we agree on the "nuclear option" becoming how the House and Senate work from now on?

You'll live to regret that for sure.

    But guess what?

    It's not needed here.

They COULD just do this with reconciliation but don't because they know they can't get enough REPUBLICANS to pass it with 51 votes.

Pulling the nuclear option would only show how TOTALLY inept they are.

Imagine pulling the nuclear option on everything and then STILL not being able to pass the debt ceiling

    THAT would be funny

There is a political value to hatred and disrespect. The ruling order must be hated and disrespected, because Authority is not truly real. Authority is virtual, it's defined by sets of possibilities, possibilities that are significant because they involve the application of physical force from bodies of armed people. Regimes of symbols are given real power when institutions that enforce them infuse symbology with real world violence and individual power over the subjugated. The symbols of the state are thus given psychological power and that which exists purely in the mind comes to impact the material world. To disrespect these institutions and to decouple these symbols from the daily reinforcement that is supposed to turn them into sigils of The State is to abolish the state itself.
