I don't think there will ever be a war with NK. I think if **** got too serious, China would invade NK, take it over, and install a more politically correct regime. They don't want us on their border.

The US is obviously looking for some country to prove that they are great... still or already. Noone in the world wishes to become their target. So Russia is suddenly exposing information about its new weaponry and Kim after Korean Olympics restarts the talks with south Korea about a possible warranties of safety. Peace is needed to both North and South Korea. And the US has no other way but to welcome this move. At least for some time. It won't require more than a month to plan next provocation. Perhaps an escort lady who was filmed with a north Korean representative in Olympics will tell all the truth about Kims plans to conquer the world or all of a sudden a guy who escaped from N.Korea a decade ago will be stabbed with a poisonous knife that has a portrait of all the Kims engraved on it... It will be smth easy to believe in.

Trump, if this were to work out, is a frigging genius. His apparent insanity and tweets might actually have worked. It is a wait and see deal though, given we are talking about NK.

If he can get done what no other president could get done, the hillary people would never give him an ounce of credit. lol But how would they tie this in with russia? They are obsessed with russia ya know?

Anyone with an IQ above 75 knows this is a delay tactic. Nothing will deter NK from their goal.

Either we go to war or accept their nukes aimed at the U.S. Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn which way we go.

Trump should send a delegation to talk. But he shouldn't send the weak-kneed like his predecessors have.

I care. I would rather avoid a war with china. I have no problem with NK having nukes to deter us doing to them what we have done to other nations since 01.

If not for our own aggression with these threats of invasion NK would never have been driven to deterring us with nukes. Just human nature boys.

But at some point a nuke war is inevitable, unless we evolve mentally. If by nothing else than a screw up, and accident and one gets launched.

But perhaps those objects that showed up over our nuclear sites and shut them down will save us from ourselves? I would not bet on it.

If Trump becomes a second Gorbachev he will leave South Korea. I doubt Trump to be Gorbachev.

That is exactly what Koreans want - peaceful coexistence with a possible reunification after a long period. I doubt that anyone in the world would enjoy adding nuclear weaponry of NK to economy of SK. It will dramatically change the balance for China, Japan and Russia. Not only to the US.
I mean if Trump would remove all the military American infrastructure:
he would repeat what Gorbachev has done to GDR.

Well there would need to be some serious bribery economically involved but seriously I am willing to pay it if KJU doesn't play BS pattycake. Gives up every nuke and the enriched uranium he has and his ICBMS? With inspections? Sure let's do it.

I am not a war monger but we can not allow a non responsible actor to have that kind of world wide lethality potential of mass destruction.

If it takes a 100 billion dollars in aid and infrastructure assistance I don't care pay it. We have and are paying more than that for failed missile defense programs. It's our debt for having multiple Presidents fail. Hell not even try to force the issue.

NK isn't Africa or the ME if KJU denucleurizes we can't go back on our word like we did with Libya and just blow him up or send Jihadists and arms to overthrow him. It's not even an option in any Pentagon/State Depts wet dreams. China would never allow it.

He has been no more irresponsible than communist china in the past. And yet they are armed with nukes. You think communist china did not indulge in what NK has indulged in in regards to human rights?

I have always seen NK and their nukes as nothing but a deterrent, to keep us out of NK. To think NK dreams of MAD is much more insane than NK is.

I disagree. China like Russia in regards to the use or more importantly the non use of nuclear weapons I believe to be a responsible actor.

They have the most successful hybrid government on the planet utilizing socialist tenets to control things and at the same time encourages capitalism economically but controlled.

I am speaking purely of nuclear weapons. They have similar protocols and checks and balances as we do so that no one person can push the button.

NK? Not so. One young man has the power and it is not. Tenable.

Human rights is an entirely different topic.

Wow, so if this is true and it happened right after Trump had all his blustering, would it prove that "tough talk" actually does work?

Interesting development for sure to watch

I think it has more to do with his (Kim's) own people than anything else.

The people that escape North Korea give us a great example of what life is like there. They LITERALLY think that the US is going to invade them or eat their babies or whatever else because it is what the government tells them.

I think getting nukes is more a "get his own people to believe and be deterred" than anything else. Dunno, just me

You sure about that? We can never know for sure, but the evidence that comes out shows what you are talking about is the opposite of the truth.

"Support for reunification in South Korea has been falling, especially among the younger generations. In the 1990s, the percent of people in government polls who regarded reunification as essential was over 80%. By 2011 that number had dropped to 56%.[15][20]

According to a December 2017 survey released by the Korea Institute for National Unification, 72.1% of South Koreans in their 20s believe reunification is unnecessary,[21] with younger South Koreans saying they are more worried about issues related to economy, employment, and living costs.[21]"

From a wiki link, but you can follow the sources that are provided in the wiki article itself which I have and they do "add up".

I can't see them giving up their nukes, but I do think the new S. Korean leader might try to end run the US to a peace deal.

I apologize, I hadn't noticed this thread, and started a new one.

I think this sudden change might have to do with Russia's new weaponry. Russia did give it's security guarantees to N. Korea quite some time ago with its road map, and Kim knows that Russia unlike the US is trustworthy. The problem is that Kim knew the US didn't consider Russia strong enough to stop its attack from the US. That changed!

Trump though is continuing his threats and provocations, and China is furious that he's doing it to ruin the peace agreements between the Koreas.

The two Koreas were brought together through a commercial enterprise that was suggested by Putin. He wants trains to transport Russian goods through both countries - and which both Koreas were open to. I think Washington wants to stop that.

No delays... The deep state USA is on the move, getting things done accordingly despite all attempts from the pro-Russian Trump administration to undermine the issue... I think other than a shocking assassination nothing can be thwarting Korean deal...

Oh my god... Again managed to tie it to some Russian propaganda BS. Weaponry my ass.

There's NO sudden change here. Olympics started a month ago...! Russia did nothing but undermined the process via Trump administration's stupid remarks. If it wasn't the Chinese working efficiently with the deep state US there would have been a catastrophe which would have affected Moscow badly.

China proved that it is a global power !
