I agree but am just happy that in my own lifetime I finally saw a few states make it legal. Mine will be the very last and I will not live to see that, given my age.

Would you believe hemp was your no.1 export back in your colonial days to supply the British navy with quality rope. By law every farmer had to grow a certain percentage of hemp on their land. Very durable textiles are made with hemp and that is how Levi Strauss came to be.

Immigrating to Canada is a long and difficult process. You're looking at easily 3-5 years for your residency to come through. You're evaluated based on a point system. You'll be asked to send a ton of paperwork throughout these years. There's a medical exam. You need to prove you have a minimum of funds, around $10K for a 1-person household. You lose points if you're over 35 years old, also lose points if you have children. You'll also need a couple of thousand dollars for the visas. Your language competency is evaluated. Your spouse's profile also affects points. Whether your job is in a sector that's in demand also matters. Visiting Canada actually gives you extra points, some immigrants visit Canada every year just to garner that. Your education level. All that jazz. The only way you can bypass some of this process is if you have a job offer waiting for you.

No American potheads are surviving this process, they'll give up after 5 minutes.

"As of the end of November, the Immigration and Refugee Board says 16,522 asylum claims were received"

Was that 16,522 for the month of November, or since the beginning of the year, or over the previous 10 years? Jesus getting a simple answer to a simple question on this Board is like getting blood from a stone!

Wow! Free pot and free medical coverage. A leftist's dream, except they will be chagrined at the lack of open borders into Canada.

Legal marijuana is in California, Oregon, Washington, Vermont, Massachusetts and probably New York by the end of the year.

    No reason to move anywhere.,

Generally but not always. In this case it could mean when the most recent stats were published using a notional historical point in time. That's why I asked, especially given the big number of 16,522; it just seemed a lot for almost a year.
