Yes, you are deeply invested in this fantasy of yours, and totally oblivious to the increasingly obvious.

Hmmm, organizations getting together to accomplish an agreed upon goal. Someone remind me, what's the definition of "collusion"?

So obvious, we've yet to see a charge. :applause: Tell you what, if Mueller ever releases his 'famed' report(that he was SUPPOSED to release this month, but he delayed it.) and if it ever gives some damning info on Trump, I'll pull an Andrew Jackson. I'll leave the forum.

The media seems to feel in charge.

    Stop the presses!

Seriously! Stop the presses. They are increasingly irrelevant.

The ironies in this post are too obvious!

You realy on Seymour Hersch? Really?

But you noted that Nixon hated the press. And you attack whistleblowers.

Well, Seymour Hersh is the most famous whistleblower in history, and Nixon hated him.

If you read a newspaper, you'd find that these stanards are still honored.

Of course, if your idea of media is cable TV news, right wing talk radio, and trashy blogs, you'd be right.

There isn't a right winger in this discussion who is really interested in real journalism.

What they want is a fawning compliant group of reporters who copy down what Trump says.

And, frankly, the press had done an excellent job of speaking truth to this corrupt and incompetent Administration.

Trump, for his part , is a vein little man.

If he were a smart politician, he would float above the press, the way all great leaders do.

Instead, because, he is a peevish little man, who takes any slight, percieved or real, personally, he lowers himself into the fray and actively feeds the beast.

Of course, bashing the press has always been a favorite with right wingers.

Odd that you mention Cronkite, because right wingers really hated him.

I was wondering what happened to Andrew Jackson.

Maybe he was the guy that destroyed Trumps start on the Hollywood walk of fame?

Nah, unlike Andrew, I'll keep to my word. I'm somewhat uninterested in politics at this point anyway, so I'm giving myself a good excuse like a junkie for abandoning it. Here's a secret that applies to every addiction: The addict needs a reason for leaving it. I gave myself one, so come on Mueller deliver the goods.

Truth is, I seldom read much he writes, given he has hardly any outlet these days. It used to be his books, but he is black listed. But until he is proven to be wrong on something, yes, I give his limited writings some relevance. As I do any person who wins the prize that he won. I think he has good insiders inside intel, and the FBI, and has for years. That he would be blacked out in MSM, given what MSM is, also has relevance. Given who Hersh is, and what put his name on the map in journalism.

I have never attacked whistle blowers, for I am not like the partisan, and only like them when they evidence something that I can use, as a blind partisan. In fact, I respect whistle blowers, for putting their arse on the line, and the Press that publishes relevant info from whistle blowers. If not for such people, we would never know of the things revealed in the Pentagon Papers. And more recently, what assange via wilkileaks has revealed to the public. Which BTW is what a real Press is supposed to do, speaking truth to power, that many times is so secret, as so much is hidden from the public, things done in their name, so nefarious as to mandate keeping it hidden. Things that the People are shocked by, and are against.

Of course you might not like Hersh, given he is what a real investigative journalist is supposed to look like. But his accomplishments are noteworthy and respectable, unlike perhaps those people you listen to. The trouble you might have with him is that he doesn't serve your beliefs, perhaps, or your political agenda. My opinion, given you question the man as you did. Scoffing at him, while obviously knowing little of his history and his creds, and his awards.

I don't think any conservatives here are trying to prevent anyone in the press from saying whatever they want. Have any conservatives suggested that Congress should pass laws which restrict the freedom of the press?

But conservatives certainly have the right to criticize the press, do you agree? And the President certainly has the right to criticize the press also. Do you agree?

As many in the press continue to be partisan, their credibility with much of the public tumbles. And this is as it should be. If the press desires to be seen as above reproach with the public, they must act in a manner which is above reproach. All too often the press sees themselves as a tool to be used to change America, instead of simply reporting facts.

Post of the year nominee. For invoking common sense in a time period where it's lagging at best.

Trump never lied. He called out the liars in the press, your friends at CNN.
Trump is not anti-press, he is anti-fake-news, as all good people are.

Trump has accused and accused the press.. He's stupid.. He should engage his brain and watch his mouth.. Without a free press democracy cannot survive.

    Have a little courage.

He thought he could use the press as president like he did when he was in real estate. Fail.

Maybe they'll start calling him racsit. Whoops already do that. Maybe they’ll call him a sexual predatory. Whoops already done that. Maybe Hitler? Yup, that too. Maybe he hates ALL immigrants? Yup. Maybe imply he works for Russia. Yup. Idiot. Check. Moron. Check. Stupid. Check. He hates his allies. Yup. He’s a warmonger. Yup. Hates children. Hates gay people. And they call this news.

What more can they possibly do? The MSM is a ****ing joke. They don’t quote him. They quote him out of context with commentary and a headline hats negative. Again. A pathetic joke. It would be funny if they treated everyone this way, but they don’t. That’s the scary part.
