the right wing merely seems disingenuous about natural rights, unless it is about abortion.

What part of natural rights do we not recognize?

I don't honestly give a damn about the interests of any American company or the auto industry when they've chosen to outsource their operations to foreign countries! They chose to relocate to foreign countries, and if problems arise that threaten the sovereignty and security of the United States because of the corrupt governments of those foreign countries, well, TOO DAMN BAD!

In fairness, Mexican businesspeople would be the ones raising the most hell about a complete shut-down of the border! They'd start going bankrupt on day-one. Within hours of shutting the border tight, Mexican businesspeople would be threatening their corrupt government bureaucrats with many interesting forms of torture and death if they DIDN'T get the 'migrant' mobs cleaned up and the threat removed from the border with the United States.

All told, it would take about one month from start to finish -- at most. And if Americans bitched because they had to buy higher-priced avocados and asparagus during that month, well, again, TOO DAMN BAD! In short, AFTER the Mexican government sent their excellent paramilitary police forces out to the field to disperse the 'migrants', the required action would be taken -- RAPIDLY -- and then we could reopen the border once again -- like nothing had ever happened....

you all are the ones claiming people from south of our border could not get to Ellis Island, if it were open instead of closed.

    Maybe, likely not.
And why spend $25B for a temporary solution?
When not letting illegal employers hire them would do so much better.
Or a better tract of Visa overstays, which are 66% of illegals. Which a wall does not 1 thing for.

    NAFTA
And if the auto industry stops, so does likely 1/3 of America. So you should give a damn. But you are a tRUMPer.
If the Mexicans raised the most hell, why did tRUMP run away?

tRUMP has a 3 day plan outlined on his campaign web page on how to make Mexico pay for wall.
Why isn't he bringing it up? Why don't you tRUMPers hold him to his promise.

I don't give a damn either, but I am not paying for a mostly usless wall. Just so tRUMPers feel better about the idiot they voted for.

Poor Danny continually bilthers on about 'Ellis Island', and I've given up trying to respond in a serious manner to anything so utterly idiotic.

But, in all honesty, Dairy, if you were candid about it, I think that you usually have no difficulty at all knowing when I'm being serious -- even though you disagree with nearly ever single viewpoint I have.... Conversely, I always know where you of the hyperliberal-Left are coming from... it's unmistakable....

I try to be honest, believe it or not, and I, too, wish that Trump had never (NEVER) said that he would "make Mexico pay for the wall". Now, a lot of us in the Right-wing try to play games with Trump's statement and 'game' what he said with observations like, "Well, he meant that he'd make the Mexicans pay INDIRECTLY...." Bullshit. That is NOT what Trump said. Sometimes I really do wish he'd pay more attention (a LOT more attention) to what comes out of his mouth.

Still, I awake each morning now in the forlorn hope that he'll just grab the phone and give the order to SEAL THE BORDER WITH MEXICO SHUT until/unless the corrupt, stinking Mexican government cleans up the horrific mess that comes bubbling up from a Mexican political/societal/economic sewer on THEIR SIDE of the border.

I've lived on or fairly near that border a great deal of my long life, Dairy. I tell you as sincerely as I've ever said anything in my life, if Trump would SEAL THE BORDER SHUT, the Mexican businesspeople would force an agreeable solution to this whole problem, and the whole thing would be settled in less than a MONTH. The Mexicans already have exactly the kind of police force needed to get this 'job' done -- easily!

Not buying it. If that were true, why did tRUMP back down?

It's why most of America doesn't like tRUMP, the crap that comes out of his mouth and fingers. Lies, lies, and more lies. And idle threats that he can never keep.
    The guy is useless POS.

Yeah, I already said that he has an unfortunate problem with sometimes saying too much, and then doing too little. But, truly, with all his faults (and, yes, there are an impressive number of them), I'd still take Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton, who was a corrupt, doctrinaire, arrogant, ignorant, STOOPID, conniving moron. She would have been an "Obama 2.0" (or even worse) and that would merely have continued a sixteen-year disaster for this poor, beleagured country. Yeah, I blame "W" Bush for his share of our national misery, too!

What do I wish we could have today instead of candidates like Trump OR Hillary? A reincarnation of either Democrat John F. Kennedy, or, Republican Ronald Reagan. It ain't gonna happen....

Shucks, that's nothin', Danny... I lost my virginity in a Mexican bordertown whorehouse when I was fifteen years old! Can you top that?! That was a LONG time ago, sure, and it was a LONG time ago when people used to go to Ellis Island. Man, if they'd had saloons and whorehouses on Ellis Island for amusement a hundred years ago, somebody would have made millions of dollars!

y'all have even less; there is no implied immigration clause in our federal Constitution. nothing but right wing fantasy.

You're right, Danny -- hell, I can't find the word, "immigration" in the Constitution at all.

Funny... I can't find the word, "asylum" in it, either.

Hey, d'ya think maybe we could transform Coney Island into being a next "Ellis Island"? All the entertainment venues are already there and running!

Gotta be careful about using the word, "natural"... think about it.

"Natural" (i.e., of "nature") rights would, on its face, entail the entitlement to do anything you want, to anyone you wish, for any reason, real or imagined that suits you! Thus, a "natural right" could include my 'right' to invade your home, steal everything you have, kill you, throw your dead body out in the street, and start living there myself! It would be only "natural", Danny.

And, curiously, that is exactly the kind of thing that drives a lot of 'migrants' here to the United States. We have wealth, comfort, and luxury. They have miserable, shithole existences. They look at us and they want what we have -- so -- they use any pretext, ruse, or excuse to come barging in here to TAKE IT. Don't tell me it isn't so, because I've seen this, and variations on this theme, occur all my long life. And now, thanks to liberal, America-hating Democrats and their operatives in federal courts and treasonous clots like the ACLU, we'll have more of them in the near future than ever before.

This latest big 'wave' started with Obama in 2014 and it will never stop until we become a Democrat-dominated shithole country, too.

[IMG] Hey... after all, it's only "natural".... :skull: . :roflol:

seems more equitable under the common law. historical precedent is there; the current policy is nothing but right wing bigotry they refuse to seriously pay for with serious, wartime tax rates. There can be no implication, if this not that serious, right wingers. Fundamentals matter under Capitalism; you cannot have Global Wars with Tax Cut economics.

Weellllll, I think the sourthern border was more an artificial barrier to people whose parents and grandparents had moved with ease through areas that had been under the jurisdiction of both countries, and the area was even more sparsely permanently settled

But Trump has no interest in an actual solution. Even the Wall was just campaign rhetoric drawn up by Bannon on the fly after Trump made immigration an issue, that ultimately became his signature issue. Reagan began his 80 campaign with a vision to reform federalism and Obama began his with a vision to seriously dismantle Reagan's views. Trump was an entertainer is search of an issue.

What does felon have to do with it? Was he wanted? Or was he an ex-felon?

Big details to me. I abhor people who call felons felons because they WERE in jail, but aren’t any more. You know... time served. That’s different... A LOT DIFFERENT, than being wanted.

I will try to take an opportunity to agree with you as much as I can. I absolutely DETEST our 'wars' in Iraq and Afghanistan, and make no mistake, we're still heavily involved in BOTH of them.

Comrade Obama swore up and down way back in 2008 when he was running for president that he would get us totally OUT of both of those pest-holes, but he never did. We're still in Iraq up to our necks, and the same in true in Afghanistan.

We've been farting around in Africa more and more since at least the time of Bill Clinton, and it's just a matter of time before we're up to our earlobes in some other "hot-spot", either in the Middle East, or more likely, in East Asia.

I've been mad, sad, disgusted, and forlorn about this country's foreign 'involvements' ever since Vietnam Era, which I (along with LOTS of other guys) was involved in. It was all BULLSHIT, and that accurately characterizes nearly every other such 'involvement' this country has had since then, too.

We need to spend our money and our attention right here AT HOME. We need to seal our Southern Border with Mexico SHUT until the corrupt Mexican government fixes THEIR problem that festers on THEIR side of the border, and we need to keep the Third-World's sewage and trash OUT of our country permanently! Now... can you agree with me on some of this...? 8)
