Community is up in arms after neighbor installs giant swastika in front yard

Other than the 10 foot swastika in his front yard?? I don't really know or care...

 

Every time he left his house and every time he returned he'd see MY EXPRESSION OF FREE SPEECH which would be rather pointed and very specific.

Its not a flag, it was a garden structure that can only be seen from above, but I can see why a liberal would be completely misinformed. Whatever the case, this person has 1st Amendment rights, it makes no difference if you agree with him or not, you could at least respect the RIGHTS themselves...

 

Some would say the purpose of Confederate statues is to remember to never repeat that part of our past. That may not be the original intent but seems to be good reason now to preserve them where they stand.
I have no use for Nazis, Neo-Nazis, skin heads or Aryans. The swastika is their symbol and is sometimes seen as tats or glorified by outlaw biker gangs with decals, badges or other. It is an offensive symbol and serves only to remind people of Hitler and the millions of Jews he had killed. Stalin probably murdered more but the red star doesn't get the same attention as the swastika or even the Maltese cross. I also find the raised fist symbol offensive as a symbol of black power or communist red or socialist worker parties.
The cross, the principal symbol of Christian religion and the Star of David are religious symbols to millions including our for fathers and are protected by our constitution so they stay, no matter what.

So I agree with you that the swastika in the guy's front yard is in bad taste. Maybe someone will take it into their own hands to rid him or his landscaping but he probably has the right to freedom of expression, like it or not. There may be a city ordinance against what he has built or as other have suggested a HOA covenant that regulates landscape standards, structures, monuments, signs, etc.

I'm not very religious and not a Jew but I agree, the guy should be called out for his yard symbol and for what it represents to many. Maybe this can be done by the courts, in the court of public opinion or by other more direct means.

As far as your dislike for Trump, that is also understandable. You are not alone. Myself, I support him. He is our duly elected president. I believe that preserving the presidency is more important than the man sitting in the WH. Dems, socialists and even commies who have infiltrated the democrat party have no respect for the presidency. As an American, I find that most disrespectful and very offensive.

Displaying a symbol that well over 200,000 Americans died in the successful attempt to destroy the evil regime that the flag symbolized isn't "what they are offering" - its displaying a middle finger to those dead and the other tens of millions.

I respect freedom of speech. But for some strange reason those using this argument think that the speaker is somehow protected from the consequences of that expression.

Good for him. He knows EXACTLY what he’s doing.

But we as a society are heading in the wrong direction. We should be confronted with stuff like this, and learn to live with it.
