they are handling it exactly as one might expect. Behind closed doors, and like a bunch of spoiled little baby brats.

    Exactly

"Sheryl Crow, with a song for our time, right now -- :rock_slayer:"

Played that song many a time when I was in a band with Savana Crawford who is now with her husband Anthony Crawford, "sweetpea" who was part of Neil Young's band for twenty years. :rock_slayer:

Trump is undoing himself. The fact that he was elected does not give him carte blanche to do whatever he wants. The president has to follow rules too, something I'm sure you would agree with if it wasn't your boy Trump that we were talking about. As far as naming a crime and providing evidence, that's not what this stage is for. You're getting ahead of yourself. Evidence is presented at the trial in the Senate if it goes that far. The role of the house right now is to determine whether there is enough cause for the trial to occur. Trump asking not one, but two foreign governments to get involved in our domestic election by investigating a political opponent strikes me very much as something worth investigating. And it's not just me that it rubs the wrong way. Apparently, many of the people who work for him were also concerned. But you know that already and you don't care.

Even though it's been said tirelessly for years, I will repeat once again. If you do not like a corrupt politician being investigated, don't elect an obviously corrupt dishonest man to be the politician. He ****ed you with his arrogance and fragile ego.

It's not a criminal trial sure,
The Senate trial is all that matters. Impeachment without a senate conviction means literally nothing. Bill Clinton getting impeached but not convicted it's almost a joke. He's still considered to be a fairly decent president, even if his status as a decent person is questionable. The same will hold true for Trump. If he is impeached but not convicted, the only person in the universe that it will truly bother the most is Trump himself. It will drive him absolutely bonkers. The descent into madness that huge charlie-horse to his ego will cause him might even cost him the election.

Based on what I've seen, I think it's fairly certain that he conditioned Aid to Ukraine on them helping him in our election. The Senate will need to decide whether they care about that. Or whether future presidents are free to invite foreign governments to help them in our domestic elections. Remember, the precedent set here will be exploited by both parties. If we allow Trump to get away with this, there is nothing to stop future presidents from doing the same. And I'll expect Trump supporters to keep their damn mouths shut if that happens. It won't be a good thing no matter what party the president doing it is from, but Trump supporters will have absolutely no standing to complain. They already have no standing to complain about dishonesty or corruption in politics.

What rules that he is required to adhere to is he failing to follow?
You admit that you are launching an investigation without any evidence that any crime has been committed. You are admitting to a witch hunt.
Oh, I see, asking for probable cause is "getting ahead of yourself?"
It's a dog and pony show. There were calls for impeachment 20 minutes after he took the oath.
The Obama Administration worked with British, Australians, Italians, Ukrainians, Russians and even a Maltese to rig an investigation of the Trump campaign and you never said squat. That Biden had the power to force the firing of a foreign prosecutor supports the concept that the Obama administration had the power to coordinate the Ukrainian interference in the 2016 election.
They seem to think Trump answers to them rather than the other way around.
That just more slander. He is the most investigated and spied on person in DC and yet no charges. In this Great Nation we are innocent unless PROVEN guilty. He has never even been charged. You're just wish casting your desires rather than facing facts.

You will lose impeachment. And Democrats rather than working for the American People have instead spent all their time trying to undo the Will of The Electorate.

How do you picture this working out for you in 2020?

That action will be in the House just as with the Nixon and Clinton impeachments. That is where the evidence is presented and full testimonies given and the decision to impeach is made. And remember when the Clinton impeachment went to the Senate the question was not whether he committed the offenses for which he was impeached the question was to remove him or nor for doing so. The evidence had him dead to rights. That is why the Democrats desperately tried to find a way out and tried to just pass a censure but the Constitution does not allow that in an impeachment, remove or not remove. And I don't think anything would bother his ego and in fact like with Clinton probably boost it and his support with his supporters and perhaps even those in the middle as with Clinton.

Conditioned internally or their, by treaty, assist in the investigation of previous corruption. Probably. But that is SOP for internal deliberations and certainly not an impeachable offense. I fully support any attempts to investigate the apparent corruption that was going on in Ukraine and the Russian attempts to influence the election. Don't you? I don't know what you think he was getting away with or why persons who announce they are running for political office get some immunity from investigations. Trump certainly saw how the Obama administration started investigations into himself and the campaign.

The standard for JUSTICE in Western Civilization, going all the way back to at least ancient Roman Law, is that an accused person is allowed to CONFRONT HIS ACCUSER!

Democrats have used 'closed-doors' and every kind of smokescreen tactic imaginable to prevent that! They found out that having completely ridiculous, totally discredited 'witnesses' as their weapon-of-choice as they attacked Brett Kavanaugh did nothing but blow up in their faces....

Now, and at some point they're going to really regret getting involved with these kind of Nazi-esque practices of attacking someone with neither credible evidence nor without even making an accuser SHOW HIS FACE TO THE ACCUSED. The old saying is true -- "What goes around COMES AROUND...."

[IMG]. "Hey, using invisible 'whistleblowers' was the best way to find 'enemies' of the Reich!" ;)

Its just a matter of time before Trump is removed from office. For someone who claims to be the most transparent President in history he appears to be the least transparent. Ronald Reagon appeard in front of congress in Iran Contra, Bill Clinton in the Lewinsky scandel, Hillary Clinton in the Bengazi investigation. Not only will Trump not come before congress to defend himself he has ordered everyone from the exective branch to not appear. Even ordered private citizens to not appear. So much for transparency. Even if Trump excapes removal in this impeachment, it is only a matter of time before the courts rule that he is to give up his tax returns. Then it all falls apart. Just the fact that the Russians co-signed his loans from the German banks, the fact that he lied and claimed his hotel had more floors than it actually had on loan applactions to banks is bank fraud. I could go on and on. Trump is going to make a deal and avoid jail by agreeing to resign or agreeing not to run in 2020. Its either that or he is going to end up in jail.

Yeah, back in 1992, Trump had some big reversals on business deals and had to get underwriting for his Trump World Tower from two German lenders, Deutsche Bank and Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank.

Not sure what that has to do with impeachment, but, when people starting looking for something, they usually find it, one way or another.

I think what I said was even if he is not removed from office through impeachment his troubles are not over. New York has sued for his tax returns and is moving through the courts. Trump has lost in the first two levels, next is the Supreme Court. No it is not impeachable to have bank loans co- signed by Russians. BUT when the news come out that Trump has loans totaling over 100million big ones co-signed by Russians voters will look at him a little differently. Not to mention tax fraud which is against the law. Many think that Trump is not nearly as wealthy as he claims. SO rather than have all these truths come out Trump will leave office with his freedom intact.

Although I still more-or-less prefer Trump to anything I've seen swimming around in the Democrat toilet to this point, I'll be the first to say that if Trump has broken laws before coming into office for which the statute-of-limitations are still active, then when it is permissible, he should have to answer in detail for all of them. Moreover, if it is proven that Trump has broken any laws while being the president, he should be impeached and removed. I've never minced words about that... although it is just as true, in principle, that Obama should have been impeached and removed for the three documented instances when he broke the law! "Some are more equal than others...." ? :cynic:

Aside: isn't it a PITY that today's radical-Democrat Party doesn't seem to have even one (ONE) candidate to put before voters that could muster the mentality, integrity, and courage to be even a pale reflection of John F. Kennedy...? If there is something bigger than a "landslide", that's what a reincarnation of John F. Kennedy would win by in 2020. Just my two-cents... and I'm a hard-core right-winger.

It's been pretty disgraceful, they keep grandstanding and trying to make the witnesses condemn Trump rather than concentrate on the facts which are actually pretty slim.

I think they are doing just as good of a job as can be expected from that party. Which explains totally why it is so laughable.
