People gets hung up on the hypersonic term. Hypersonic is defined as anything going past mach 5. This isn't outside tbe realm of the feseable.
I'm aware of that, I was obviously speaking of conventional artillery fired with smokeless gunpowders.
Meanwhile, the United States simply redesigns the shape and capabilities of the projectile to create a hyperbolistic weapon out of its already existing guns...no need for a railgun. *See video posted above* #131
Has the disadvantage that it doesnt has the firepower and longer cool down phase. I assume our defence experts know what they are doing.
That's not a battleship.....more like a speedboat with a howitzer. USS Missouri.....that's a battleship.
Well american tanks use german cannons, as do american war ships. They are build by Rheinmetall. I assume we know alot about cannons. Documented history shows, that our weapons always were superior to others. There is a reason why Germany is in top 4 weapon producers in world. Even infront China, UK and Israel.
Its not a low flying cruise missile. Physics does not allow that, nor our technology. The SR 71 flew at 80,000 feet, Mach 3.2, skin temperature over 500 F, caused by air friction Take her down to 35,000 feet, air liner, at Mach 3.2, what ya think 800 or 1000 F Cruise missile 1000 feet and less, Mach 3.2, molten. Lets not talk about the huge amount of energy required to get to that speed and than try to maintain it.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3M22_Zircon "It is being developed by the Scientific Production Organization for Machinery-building, or NPO Mash. The body length is estimated at 10 to 11 meters (32-36 feet), warhead weight at 300 to 400 kg (660-880 pounds), and peak altitude along the trajectory at 30 to 40 km (100,000-130,000 feet)." That's peak altitude, not sustained.
A U.S. carrier would laugh at an 880 lb. warhead. During the Vietnam War, Enterprise had thousands of lbs. of bombs detonate on her deck once. She was back in action in barely 24 hours.
I know. But it would be killer against a destroyer or cruiser. Also velocity plays a role. Some ww2 japanese okha went right through those destroyerss
9 bombs accidentally detonated across the flight deck. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_Enterprise_fire
