    note the proportional death by country and further note that Japan doesn’t even rate even though it was at the center of the pandemic and has the largest elderly population in the world.

    No, I think it's awful that Sweden euthanized their elderly when they had ICU beds available. It's about as awful as Cuomo tossing the Covid-positive elderly into the same nursing homes with the non-Covid infected residents.

    It's killing old people either way, so yeah, it's kind of a big deal which greatly increased the death tolls in Sweden and in New York City. Sweden might have even been more humane with their "happy euthanization death injections" for Covid elderly, compared to Cuomo's "buy one get a few more for free" deal with letting the infection spread freely among the residents until they suffered multiple deaths from each infected senior.

    At this point, no country's economy is salvageable without years of pain and recovery. The world should adjust just fine to the Chinese government system though. People are fairly resilient, even in massive poverty.

    Who on this thread said they were a model to be emulated? What post # was that?

    In fact, I don't recall too many people in any thread saying that the "New York Cuomo" model was worthy of emulation either, unless America is so competitive now that we insist on being "Number 1" in everything, including in plague deaths.

    India and Brazil are saying hello very soon. Regardless, the amount of lives lost and sick are a tragedy. And it could've been avoided if China were open to the international community. For all the complaints about Trump, Xi is the biggest threat to the international order and he's not going anywhere.

    If someone other than Biden were running against Trump, i'd vote for that opponent. Andrew Yang could've been a turning corner for the Democratic Party. Instead, primary voters held their nose for what we can only say is America's Hindenburg.(Hell, not even considering that Hindenburg had a military career behind him and thus popular backing.)

    All Biden has done essentially is have his lackluster career polished like every other Democrat of the past 25 years.

    I can readily understand Americans showing a strong preference for Biden, despite my personal preference

    . I'm sure that the impressive Mr Yang's endorsing Biden was a no brainer for him.

    Yes, that was H1N1. No lockdowns, we actually sped up the process of getting a vaccine, and civil liberties weren't trampled on.

    The Hong Kong Flu of 1968 killed somewhere between 1 million and 4 million people. Covid hasn't reached even 1 million globally.

    And what “valid” medical advice. Sweden has one. Japan has one, the US has one. Medicine does not speak with one voice. I’m gonna be out there doing things. If you want to hide that’s your business.
