The No One CARES Act was the largest upward transfer of wealth in history. 10 billionaires have gotten 42% richer since March. Many large companies have absorbed smaller ones. 8 million people have fallen into poverty since July. Half of the population was already poor or low-income before the pandemic. 44% made $18k per year or less. Wages have been stagnant since the mid-1970s. The minimum wage would be $24 per hour if it kept up with productivity. Employers have to keep labor costs low to maintain a competitive edge. Hocus-Pocus? Debating the Age of Magic Money Billionaires Want People Back At Work, Even If It Kills Them | HuffPost
The Rich, often is what makes the world better for everyone. People are criticizing them , at the same time many of these capitalists have improved all our lives. Criticize Bezos, and then enjoy all the convenience of Amazon. Criticize Musk, then enjoy the future of electric vehicles. Criticize Bill Gates and then turn on your computer etc. Free capitalism, successful bold entrepreneurs, is what made America.
Your post has several elements of truth in it, but you completely ignore the fact that the CARES Act and Operation Covid are part of the same scam, and that the US Treasury has been plundered by those participating in the scam.
Destroy the middle class and destroy the country. Moving manufacturing jobs overseas has resulted in cheaper goods at the cost of replacing the good jobs that allowed people to access the middle class with low-paying dead end ones. How long can the country survive with an increasing number of the population working part-time hawking fast food or stocking shelves in box stores with nothing to advance into? It's unsustainable.
~ Of course - that is the path to reliance on big government. Make the citizens dependent on handouts, control elections with electronic votes , eliminate the middle-class so everyone is equally poor. Welcome to the new world order.
It wasn't a scam. It was the government's idea. A stupid idea to be sure but I don't think it is related to what capitalists do.
Ahhh! but we all strived to own Boardwalk and Park Place. Happy Thanksgiving as it may be the last one this country sees in many years if the Democrats win control of the Senate. I'm thankful I have had the opportunity to educate my self with all the wonderful inventions of the last 100 years. I get to tell my grandchildren the stories of how I was so excited to live in a house that had heat from a boiler instead of a pot belly stove I had to keep going with coal. My first time at age 5 and seeing a TV with Howdy Doodie and Clara bell . The enjoyment in the summer when my parents bought our first air conditioner. I remember my first Transistor Radio by Zenith and all the wonderful games and gadgets that have made my family's life easier and now I'm experiencing the great strides in medicine that have prolonged my life and relieved the pain of other family members. I am thankful for being able to live in country, quite beautiful in fact, that has a allowed a boy who was dirt poor to experience the up's and downs of rags to riches a couple different times and still be able to succeed. I had a friend, Pudgy, told me that there are three types of people 1. those who are smart and go through life and learn from their own mistakes. 2. Those who are wise and watch others and learn from their mistakes. 3. Those in life who just sit there and exist and in the end wonder "what the hell happened". The moral of the story EDUCATION, EDUCATION, EDUCATION.
~ Just not public education. That is why school choice is important - and why it is discouraged by authoritarian governments.
How could you be rich if money was taken from a small percentage and handed over the everyone else? You'd get about $375.00 out of the deal. That'll put you on easy street.
Wouldn't it be great to have another Age of Renaissance where people can have an exchange and free flow of information without fear of repercussions? I have my grand daughter coming by to drop me some turkey and let me see my grand son. She is one of those who has not a wit about her and talks all this commie trash. I'm going to give her a copy of an article from the Epoch Times about Thanksgiving and I'm pretty sure I won't be meeting up with her for Christmas. Very sad.
I think the rich would be thankful to be taking money in from their assets and not having those assets being sold for cash to pay off debt.
Nothing wrong with that, and I've never criticized any of them The rich I have a problem with are the Statist rich, who've made their money through government connections. Chief among them is our own Dirty Donald and the far richer Vladimir Putin, quite possibly the richest man ever to exist.
I suppose it's too late by now but why didn't you just let your granddaughter go her witless way without the repercussion of getting an article she disagreed with from her grandfather? She's not the one blocking the Renaissance as I see it. Very sad indeed. And not my business indeed, but you made the post.
Education you get from others in a school is always nothing but a starting point I've gone on record as saying it's a pure wonder how we pay the majority of our local taxes to maintain quasi-prisons for our own children. The legality of homeschooling is something I fought hard for and it meant I never dared send any of my own offspring near one until college, which they found a breeze after dealing with me.
Actually I didn't give it too her. We were very cordial. She posts crap on her Facebook page all the time and I have never said a word. I even commissioned her to do a painting for wall. My wife on the other hand gave her some material to enlighten her. Who's to say she'll disagree. She may just need a different point of view.
