https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/su...onsider-right-carry-gun-outside-home-n1265357 The supreme court takes up a narrow portion of upcoming Case on Concealed Carry. Depending on how its ruled it could upend New York gun laws in place since 1918.
Luckily they turned down the bump stock ban case for now. Smart. It gives them cover to say “see we are bipartisan”, since most of us don’t give a **** about bump stocks. They now have the cover they need to 6-3 or 5-4 this, as well as destroy assault weapons bans once they take the next case coming. And the second the left calls them partisan decisions, they can point to the bump stocks and say “Partisans would have taken that case and made them legal again; so you’re full of it.” Smart. Very smart.
New York will move to a "shall issue" system before the court can rule on this, rendering the case moot. Just like Illinois did.
I'll be surprised if the conservatives on the court fall for the same trick twice. If New York tries such a thing, I think the Supreme Court will issue a ruling anyway.
Since its the 2nd time its occurred they might still hear it on the grounds that its repeatable as an injury but could continue to evade review.
