Yes, I know what you said, but, I included all creatures. What is special about primates?

I don't think people are ALWAYS (inherently) honest but I do think it should be a constant goal. If you read my original post the I believe people are inherently honest, you misunderstood what I was trying to say.

No biggie, it happens. Hence the /e shrug <- not meant to be demeaning, just oh well, it happens.

    Thanks! I "get" it now.

Let's blame it on the snow. I'm in Chicago. It's cold here. Maybe it froze my brain. LOL

No. War is an action. The trait is disagreement.

You're not far off, but as other posters have pointed out, your interpretation and supposition is extremely narrow and incomplete.

I believe there is only one. That is self destruction.

War is not character trait, so no, you are not right.

Biblically speaking there are people who display love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

And those who display sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy and drunkenness.

These also appear in dogs as do curiosity and war, the latter two being very useful for defense.
After 3O years of being around quite a few dogs, I can absolutely attest to that!

I would say imagination/abstract thought and the opposable thumb.

war is done by a nation, tribes, religions. Not as an individual.
Traits are individual and ingrained into their being. If we are born to war, we'd fight with most everyone and humanity would not grow. If by war, you mean killing.

I don't think so. So harm to eat, carnivores.
Humans, the vast vast majority, don't harm others just for the fun. What proof do you have to make that claim? Because some do? Remember, there's 7B people. Arguments happen and get out of control

Very interesting. However a serious scientific answer would be the search for a God, and natural altruism. Another serious but unscientific answer would be endless inhumanity (which ironically is opposite altruism.).

    Natural altruism?
IMO that is learned, not generically (or genetically) human. I see most "untrained" humans as naturally territorial, tribal and possessive of benefits they accrue.
    Hence the wars being discussed.

There is a large irony here because opposites inhumanity and altruism are both present, and whether they are genetic or learned is an open question. My key was that showing altruism at all is a trait exclusive to humans although other animals can display sympathy. But no bird or dog has ever consciously died to save another bird or dog.
