Then he'll get what's coming to him, but I don't think that's what happened given that Trump had gathered a team that was designated to move the documents and not Trurmp himself per se. It's interesting that it says "to account for" because I have a theory. I do not think these documents were taken in either January or June. I actually think these Special Access documents were taken much later, like say a couple of weeks ago or perhaps even a few days ago.

That would account for the change of behavior from asking for a pad lock, to a search exposition. And suffice to say, Trump shouldn't be able to get the documents in that case. I suspect a government breach as you said, at the highest levels did occur but the government does not want to admit that. Nor does the government have any leads either. But given the documentation with Trump, they figured that was the first place to look.

If I'm right, the US government has been breached, the access programs are out there somewhere and not in the possession of any government entity at the moment.

Look at this bullshit story about Trump trying to "grab the steering wheel" on January 6, yet refusing to allow the actual agents who were there testify in public that it's not possible and never happened.

Perfectly plausible story. "We're looking for nuclear secrets. Let's look in Melania's coat pockets."

 

Bingo! Missing government documents cause somewhat of a problem, and something like this would have been caught immediately or within hours. Reporting on this makes you think that the government takes months to locate their missing secrets, but that is never true.

 

Knowing he loves money more than anything he probably kept them in case he one day decided to sell them to the highest bidder.

 

What'll be telling and very crucial is if they announce that they recovered the documents.. Obviously if they recovered it, he had it and that's good news for the US(not so for Trump, but that's a secondary matter.). If my theory is correct, then Person X will be able to move about freely with the documents as the government doesn't really have a clue about person X. I concur with @Surfer Joe Regardless of whether Trump engaged in a scheme to sell our nuclear secrets, or whether there is a Person X we should change the codes. To at least eliminate the possibility of a person X, all persons who work near the special access codes must be indefinitely suspended and interviewed until we weed out every last possible culprit.
