Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak - who would you choose as Tory leader and future Prime Minister of the UK? Some info about Liz: More - with picture: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Truss Some info about Rishi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rishi_Sunak
I would have preferred Mr. Tugendhat, as he has Tugend = virtue, if his name is anything to go by with.
By that argument, Sunak apparently means "listener" in Hindi and Truss would be very supportive. (We also probably wouldn't have kept hold of our Johnson for as long)
Ben Wallace says he is backing Liz Truss https://www.theguardian.com/politic...sunak-liz-truss-keir-starmer-uk-politics-live
As it happens, right now I am reading a novel written by Lynne Truss. If I compare the two Trusses, I would prefer Lynne over Liz. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynne_Truss
I wonder who will follow Boris Johnson. I am afraid that neither of the two will be much of an improvement.
Truss has been elected - as suspected. She will now travel to Scotland, to "kiss hands with the Queen" - as the ritual is called.
Sunak was the "We aren't racists. See we have a black ( errr brown) friend" candidate. If Truss calls a general election, which traditionally a newly installed successor PM does after taking over, then the conservatives will get creamed. That will be the next point of contention before the slobber dries on the Queen's hand"When will you/why haven't you...".
My close friend suggests that people do not vote for anyone. Instead, they vote for the candidates whom they believe will do society the least harm. I agree with this. The English voters apparently do not.
