Why? Because social media companies affect national elections, as this last election showed. So, yes, I'm comparing apples to apples. Private companies affecting national policies. If you're going to holler about one, be consistent and holler about both, or all.

Judges appear to not agree with The Daily Beast...

LINK: Appeals court reverses much of judge's order blocking Biden administration officials from communicating with social media companies | CNN Politics

And just to be nice, I even used a lefty source so you can't complain about partisanship.

Leftists have been directly undermining US troops on the battlefield for 60 years. So, what's your problem with Musk, exactly?

Nothing, the man is a walking anthropological experiment at this point. I suppose if everyone just refused to accept his money then there would be a chance to do something about him.

    But lol, no.

I think the issue is that he made false promises that he won't interfere, yet he does. But since this thread is more about whataboutism, from the OP, I simply gave an option. Nothing more, nothing less.

Musk made it clear beforehand that Starlink wasn't to be used in attacking Russia. The Ukranian military still has access for its counter offensives to reclaim what Russia took in its initial attack.

There's nothing any of you can do about Elon. Tesla sells more cars every year than it did the previous. SpaceX's value grows every year. The man bought a $44 billion toy. We have democrats on this board griping that they can't afford plane tickets.

Anybody dumb enough to not realize Tesla is a tech company that happens to manufacture cars likely can't even afford a Model 3.

Elon's got what they want. There's no escaping that with your pitiful logic.

If Elon assisted he'd be a war profiteer.
If Elon didn't assist he'd be a traitor fascist.

Later, when it is once again convenient for war to be bad, he can be in a profiteer traitor super position. It doesn't matter.

The biography claiming Musk turned off Starlink to thwart a drone sub attack on Russian port after a call with Russian brass also claims that our state department was also on the call. The same state dept that refuses to give Ukraine long range missiles because Ukraine will use them to attack Russia proper and not just defend Ukraine. Shouldn't be difficult to understand why if they dont want Ukraine using our weapons to hit Russia outside Ukraine, we also wouldnt want them using Musk's Starlink to hit Russia outside Ukraine either.

    "airspace monopoly?"

I'm not sure I know what you mean by that.

I think Elon has a lot more important issues to worry about, like I'm amazed that he actually got Amber Heard to cosplay as a video game character. She must have been golddigging hard when they dated.

Starlink's satellites are in orbit around the earth, they use frequencies to communicate, thus can be regulated

and if they start interfering with wars and such, they could face consequences

That's the thing about Elon that they're starting to hate. He has the ability to buy an entire social media platform and troll government officials. He can launch things into space. He can influence countries directly without the use of soldiers or money. He can do all sorts of things no other private citizen can do. Washington's way of dealing with billionaires has always been simple. Hold your hands out, smile, and offer all sorts of goodies. Government contracts, taxpayer money, monopolies, etc, and have safeguards in place to control them like having the FBI show up and "suggest" content regulation. Musk isn't that. He can't be controlled, and that's a problem for the OP, who would likely laugh at Mormons but would happily bow down and offer sacrifices to the altar of big government.

That sounds like something Biden would say. I mean anyone playing with a full deck of cards would know Musk wasn’t ‘put’ in a position of influence. Musk ‘bought’ Twitter, and I don’t think social media has all the evil powers of influence that many suggest.

Social media (in this sense) merely provides a platform for points of views, opinions and news reports… all for readers to consider and use their own mind to draw conclusions.

You think Musk interfered with a war?

You're a regular Frank Burns; "how dare you interfere with this war! If it were up to people like you, we wouldn't even be having a war!" Lol!

Elon Musk has been trolling government officials long before he bought the platform in one way or the other. One way was when he created Tesla as a form of trolling back in the early days of EV technology.

never said that, try reading it again
I said it's a crime for one to jam signals..... I said it would also then be a crime for Musk to turn off access
