Absolutely. They have lost objectivity and have made it a pattern to project onto the "left" or anyone else except have trump take responsibility for his actions and words.

 

That's exactly why he has to lose.

But Trump will never accept defeat or concede.

Ever.

He will once again claim that the election was rigged and that victory was stolen from him.

And because of this, there will be more violence from his supporters.

He'll find other ways.

Didn't he say he wanted to get back at the people who sued him?

Didn't he say he wanted to muzzle the media that didn't support him?

Didn't he say he wanted to 'eliminate the leftist vermin' in the country?

The guy's mentally ill.

 

What are those other ways? I want a score card so I can watch it unfold.

Put family members in key government positions.

Fire all generals who are not politically aligned with him and replace them with MAGAs.

I'm not sure about that. Trump won the rust belt in 2016 in states that usually go Democrat. I doubt he could have won without Democrats and Independents voting for him, so if he ran as a Democrat he likely would have won those states by a much larger margin.

The thing keeping him from running as a Democrat (besides his Obama attacks) was his immigration positions. The party might have bended on everything else policy wise, but by 2016 they were too far gone for that.

 

The DOJ and most of the bureaucracy have been politicized at least since Obama and in some cases probably much longer.

 

I do disagree with that. In fact I would say it's pretty much inevitable that the President becomes a de facto dictator. Democracies don't last anyway and Presidential power has grown and grown throughout the last century.

 

Disagree all you like. Neither Trump nor Biden will become a true dictator. Won't happen with our system. For that we should all thank our founding fathers. We owe them big time for being so intelligent and forward thinking.

Dude the Republicans joined with Democrats to ban "anti-semitic" speech in Congress. The greatest single assault on free speech in American history. Neither party is your friend. Remember that. It is amazing given all the problems facing Americans, these people can only think of attacking our constitutional rights. Quit worrying about the little people and start worrying about our so-called elites. Just so you know, criticism of Israel would become prosecutable under this legislation. That will have a big impact on this very forum.

Frankly if you have the military the rest can be made to follow. He made significant progress on the administrative state hollowing out the state department and generally making appointments by loyalty.

Does he have the military? Not enough to overturn our system of government. His first step would really be to rig elections in his favor long enough that he can consolidate power enough to overturn our relatively robust system - not as easy as in places where a republic is new and fragile. But his actions to try to overturn the last election were him attempting to do just that.

Congress has the right to determine it's own rules, and they have a long history of decorum that all members must adhere to, such as respecting each other while on the floor of the house or senate, etc., etc., etc. (which MTG appears to be ignoring).

Now, that legislation shouldn't apply to the rest of us, just their own house.

I haven't read the bill, so I am not commenting until I'm familiar with it.
