In all fairness, he is not that "obscure", and he is not just some "state representative in Mississippi"...
Mike Collins is a very controversial U.S. Congressman (who is very active, and well-known, on social media).

I use the Lee S standard for who is and who isn't obscure. If I never heard about him, he is obscure. You may not like that standard, but it is what I got.

    What makes him so "controversial"?

How am I supposed to tell you why Huff published the article. Strange question. No, I unfortunately don't write for them. Again, I do not believe in broad brushing an entire group of persons for the actions of a few. I will say it again, Not all republicans are racist. Why did I make this thread? I saw it in the news and thought it was an interesting topic and thought this was a place where people discuss politics and the news.

I'm sorry but that is incorrect.

While the First Amendment protects Americans’ rights to talk, voice, articulate, protest or rant their opinions without the fear that they will be imprisoned for what they say, there is a limit on what one can say without facing legal repercussions: free speech does not always mean “free from consequences.”

Fair enough. I think the most interesting part of the whole article is the way that the Huffington Post article took several disparate facts and edited them to look like the Congressman endorsed vile and reprehensible actions by one awful person.

I won't deny we always get a degree of bias with every article. Some more than others. It's really awful what's going on in regards to the war.

The protestors have a right to believe whatever. They don't have a right to turn it into a campus riot.

Elon Musk proposed a law that says- If someone tears down an American flag and puts another in it's place, that person should get a free, but mandatory one way ticket to that flag's country.

Did you see the protestors and counter-protestors coming together in Alabama to chant "FJB" (lets go Brandon)? It was hilarious.
