Do you realize how much longer it would take semis to haul freight anywhere if they were EVs compared to diesels?

Do you realize how much more expensive EVERYTHING would be as a result of this?

    Stuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuupid idea................

Nope. It'll be WAYYYYYYYY heavier. It'll take A LOT of battery (that's A LOT of weight). EVs are already much heavier than their ICE counterparts when it comes to cars and trucks.

No. It subsidizes the wind/solar/EV industry.

Mindlessness of the first bullet point throws the rest into questionability.

That was a quote from one of the Pepsi test drivers. Obviously it’s his opinion. The entire article is about the opinions of Pepsi drivers.

So you’re saying they’re lying? You don’t think their bosses want honest opinions?

I worked for a Fortune 500 Company. They didn’t put up with that nonsense from employees. If they solicited opinions, they wanted honest evaluations

I don't care about your personal claims on the internet. In every company everywhere everyone knows what answer the corporate leadership hopes for.

Why do you think trips would take longer? Think of a semi shifting thru its gears, and how slow the current acceleration is. The instantaneous torque will be a huge time-saver.

Your obsession with torque is absurd. Diesel engines can make plenty of torque. You just have to increase displacement if you need more.

And torque ignores the fundamental weakness of EVs- the relative inability to do work. And there's no cure on the horizon for that.

Torque represents the ability to do work. EVs outshine ICEs in this regard.

I'm afraid you're out of your depth here. The 100% torque-all-the-time feature is directly related to EV trucks' sharply limited range under load, which makes them unsuitable highway haulers.

Torque is a force. No work gets done by any force if nothing actually moves. You can push on a concrete wall all day long and not actually do any work.

ICE is hands down better at work despite the boy racer thrill of EV Torque. Which actually isn't all that impressive. It's merely instantaneous full torque with no modulation to match the force actually required to do the work required.

    The fatal flaw of EVs.

We’re back to RANGE, where I agree with any critique of EVs. The OP wants to extend that to all other aspects, where EVs actually outshine ICEs. For example, regenerative braking is a HUGE issue with trucks. So we should be able to agree that for trips 150- 200 miles or less, EV semis are the better choice. Or if the driver wants to pull over for 15-20 minutes to recharge after depletion.

Sorry, but the greater the load the shorter the range, and time is money, so no, EV semis will almost never be the better choice. I could imagine light duty EV delivery trucks (Amazon and such) but that's about it. And regenerative braking is not a panacea.

Here's some actual trucking company analysis.
Wall Street Journal: Companies are Balking at the High Cost of Running Electric Trucks.
    Paul Berger
The Wall Street Journal’s coverage of the high costs associated with electric trucks in the logistics sector brings critical scrutiny to the practical and economic viability of this transition.

“As trucks get heavier the difference in operating costs between battery-electric vehicles and diesel trucks grows more pronounced,”

If any of that were actually true, there'd be no controversy at all. Everybody would convert to EVs on their own without government forcing it on people.

    It's just not true.
