I'd like to see the evidence, but strategically it makes perfect sense. Hamas is laughably ineffective at killing Israelis. The October 7th attack was their deadliest so far, and was only possible through either complete incompetence of Mossad or something worse. While symbolically significant, it didn't actually kill a large number of Israelis. What Hamas is good for, from Israel's standpoint, is justifying aggressive actions towards defenseless people.

lol, that's not what happened. Many fought back... and lost. You don't recall reading of all the scalping and slaughtering - by both sides? More would have fought back had it not been so hopeless.

Sounds plausible, but do you have evidence for this?

I totally thought you were talking about Israel, lol. I assume you mean Hamas, but more based upon your posting history than this post. I'm not sure who you mean. Hamas was never capable of wiping out its neighbor, though. So it must be Israel.

Well we can't give them all the credit. They needed Netanyahu's support (to the tune of $35 million/month over the course of several years). One wonders what the death count would have been without the weapons that Netanyahu's money bought for Hamas.

    Well lets break it down.

    1. hamas rapes, slaughters, and kidnapps thousands of innocent civilians
    2. hamas hides under schools, hospitals, etc
    3. hamas uses their own people as shields

Israel is justified. They have a duty to eradicate hamas. I dont believe they are killing any more civilians than necessary to accomplish their goals. In fact, Israel has done much more to limit civilian casualties than we would if faced with the same scenario.

And Israel slaughters the civilians regardless of the situation.

Perhaps the inability to kill Hamas without killing civilians should be seen as an opportunity for real negotiations, not one sided strongarming demands, instead of as an opportunity to splatter more innocent civilians?
There is no military solution to the problem. The sooner everyone understands that, the better it will be for all. It would be nice if Israel could act like the adults, instead of throwing an epic tantrum ten times worse than what Hamas did. So many nations these days are run by the biggest, most spoiled and entitled babies imaginable, more worried about their political careers than innocent human lives.

Perhaps you can convince them to stop trying to cleanse Israel ethnically after this war is concluded. I hope you understand that this war was self inflicted by Gaza.

Nope, it doesn't take much research to discover the American Indian took scalps as trophy long before colonials did..

Perhaps you can convince Israel to stop oppressing the Palestinians, stealing their lands, and imprisoning Palestinians without charges or trials? That would go far in reducing Palestinian anger against Israel, and would greatly reduce the violence in the region.

I don't care if Palestinians are mad at Israel. I care that they invade and kill the population. Perhaps you haven't noticed but the place is government by terrorists. Support them if you like but don't criticize me for supporting Israel.

So is Israel! Likud is every bit as terrible as Hamas. It is their actions that radicalize Palestinians to join Hamas. Stop with the greed and powermongering of Likud, and it would reduce the hate that generates in Palestine, causing radicalism.
I don't see how supporting the current regime in Israel is any better than supporting Hamas. Both are bloodthirsty, immoral groups filled with hate and willing to slaughter innocents.

I think you are wrong – Hamas killed as many Israelis as it could, Israel is not killing as much Palestinians as it can, Israel is killing Palestinians in order to protect its soldiers.

Generally – I would say Israel is caring more for Gaza civilian population than Hamas, and here is the proof:

Hamas knew that Israel will respond very forcefully to Hamas Oct 7 genocide, but even after Israeli response Hamas promised more Oct 7 attacks:

Hamas refused civilian population to hide in underground tunnels:

Hamas is preventing Palestinians to leave areas Israel warned it will bomb:
    https://www.reuters.com/world/middl...ome-israel-ground-offensive-looms-2023-10-13/

Hamas could stop the war by releasing hostages and leaving Gaza, or saying it will accept 2 state solution.

So the question is why everyone is so upset about Israeli action, but gives a flying f** about Hamas actions.
I think the correct answer gave Claudine Gay – calling for genocide of Jews is not harassment, because it depends on context – so obviously Hamas Oct 7 genocide is not genocide, but Israel response it. Why? Because it depends on context.

No. Just f*** no! There are no negotiations after Oct 7. The only possible outcome is the eradication of hamas. If you can't see that, I feel sorry for you.

Israel has killed far more Palestinian civilians than Hamas killed, both before and after October 7th. Is it that you just don't value Palestinian life? Why the outrage over the Hamas slaughter of civilians, which I agree with you about, but the massive support for the IDF slaughter of innocent civilians both before and after October 7th? That is what I do not understand. Is it their religion that makes you think their life is worth less? Their ethnicity? The way I see it, the killing of innocents on either side is completely unacceptable.

The difference is that I know a terrorist group when I see one. Get back to me when Israel goes on a killing, mutilation, and raping spree.

If you care about the innocents on the side of Palestine then you should be praying for a hamas surrender. It's hamas, and only hamas that is getting the innocents killed.

I'm sorry, but Israel is 100% justified in what they are doing. We would do the same thing, probably more destruction.

And, is anyone else sick to death of whiny americans siding with terrorists?

Maybe if Hamas didn't hide among civilians and use them as shields, fewer civilians would get harmed? But animals do animalistic things. You want Israel to play by the rules of war, yet don't care what barbaric tactics Hamas uses? INNOCENT is subjective when you CHEER Oct7th and we've got plenty of video of crowds cheering and gleefully hitting dead Israelis with sticks....like the middle ages. Yeah, keep defending the poor defenseless people who voted in Terrorists to lead them. Live by your choices. If they didn't want to die, shouldn't have attacked on Oct7th. Shouldn't have picked a fight you could NEVER win. But we all know YOUR wishes are similar to theirs, or you wouldn't defend them. From the River to the Sea?

Especially the LGBT groups. Its truly fascinating how stupid and naive these people are on campuses. They have no clue who they're defending. The stupid soft white students would have terrifying things happen to them if they went over there and the LGBT folks would be getting free diving lessons but with no water, because that's what Palestinians think of them. Its just amazing.

I've said over and over and over again that I completely condemn the tactics Hamas uses. Why would I get upset about what the IDF is doing if I wasn't upset about what Hamas is doing? Some people seem to be completely unable to understand the concept of being totally against the killing of civilians and simultaneously being against Hamas. I don't see why that is so difficult to understand.

People will cheer horrible things when they are closely and personally involved. I've cheered when I've seen ordnance hit buildings that likely contained civilians when I knew I'd be moving through those areas with my unit. Looking back on it, I am not proud of that at all, but at the time, when I was very emotionally invested, I've cheered at some really ****ed up ****. It is natural, especially when it is a people who have been oppressed for so long.
People cheering when their enemy gets hit does not justify sentencing them all to death by indiscriminate bombing.
