Its not a cheap shot. The study shows Southern States ARE dumber than the Northern ones (for whatever reason). They are also poorer.

Nope, not liberal. The study is what it is. Sorry if you have a hard time accepting it.

 

We have some great schools in the U.S. but most of them are in the private sector. There are some great public schools as well but, on average, public education is a problem here. It has been so for decades.

 

I didn't say that the study was a cheap shot. Nor your post, if that's what you're inferring...

I completely accept the study.

I was making the point that if a liberal (for example, me) goes for a cheap shot about the Southern states being dumb, they have a liberal-silencing come back. Clever.

I get laughed at and criticized all the time for NOT using easily acceptable technology for every little thing. I'm told I need to 'keep up'. But the older I get, the more I find myself wanting to use my brain rather than technology. I will use google maps instead of a folded map, but I look at the map rather than putting in the addresses for directions. I feel much more confident when I look at the whole area and determine my own route. There are lots of technologies I do use, but when I can use my brain, I do!

 

It takes a great deal of intelligence to master technology.

 

I prefer a folding map. We just spent a week at Utah National Parks and trying to swipe back and forth on a cell phone screen in order to find what we were looking for was tiresome, and a folding map made it much easier. Also, Siri was mightily confused about the multiple entrances to Zion national park. Hiking apps on a cell phone were great though. They could even be life savers in case you get lost.

 

But not to consume it.

Which is exactly why I pointed out illegal immigration. The south is saturated with latinos. Whites are smarter.

 

What BS. populists dont have a negative attitude towards education, whatsoever. Their opposition is to our US Education system that leads to a DECREASE in IQ in every state. Opposed to Critical Theory and Critical Pedagogy that has overtaken our education system.

 

Differences between the IQ of whites and hispanics is minimal. With all these illegals streaming across the border, a lack of proficiency in English is whats holding back the hispanics.

And I also wouldn't necessarily blame the "Sh*t hole countries" they come from. Immigrants from Nigeria do just fine in both education and wealth. As a former British colony English proficiency is prevalent.

 

There is a difference between intelligence and ability to pass a test The South is being invaded by millions of illegals that can't speak English and will bring average test scores down. You don't have to attack people by race to explain the dumbing down of people in America. (Not accusing you or anyone of this.) The invasion of illegals makes it obvious.

 

IQ tests are really the only measure of intelligence we have.
Always amused by the condemnation of Charles Murray as a white supremacist for his book The Bell Curve: Intelligence and Class Structure in American Life that found a certain sect of jews on average scored highest on IQ tests, asians 2nd highest, whites 3rd followed by hispanics and blacks. Part of why the left, champions for the minorities in America, exclude jews and asians from their preferred list of minorities in need of protection.

The study was carried out for the period 2006 to 2018. I thought that Trump reduced illegal immigration so surely IQ should have increased after 2016 to the end of the study

 

Intelligence didn't evolve for for survival. It evolved for socializing.

 

The amount of words you type is no measure of intelligence in fact the quicker you can get your message across the more intelligent you are.

And being persnickety about spelling is an indication of intolerance not intelligence.

I would say you're probably smarter if you can figure out what someone's trying to say even if they make spelling errors.

 

IMO IQ scores has reduced for a couple of reasons
1: Those with higher IQ have a lower number of children.
2: The high use of gadgets decreases the need to think for one's self. An anecdotal point. I was on a walk with a group of friends in woods recently and we weren't sure where we were. Out came the phones. Did not really help them as they couldn't figure out where North was. Even when I pointed out the position of the sun, they could not see the relevance.

 

You're missing the point. His/her post was purely an attack against non-whites. My post was not about the length of the post. It was about the many grammatical errors in such a short post attacking the intelligence of non-whites

 

Better way to put someone like that in their place is remind them that Asians tend to do better on the intelligence side of things.
