No kidding, a worm, now dead, ate part of RFKjr's brain.

Ooh, the late night comedy circuit is going to have fun with this one

You can't make this stuff up, folks.

On top of all the weirdness surrounding Trump, what are the political implications of this?

You got me, I have no idea.

    https://dnyuz.com/2024/05/08/r-f-k-jr-says-doctors-found-a-dead-worm-in-his-brain/

In 2010, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was experiencing memory loss and mental fogginess so severe that a friend grew concerned he might have a brain tumor. Mr. Kennedy said he consulted several of the country’s top neurologists, many of whom had either treated or spoken to his uncle, Senator Edward M. Kennedy, before his death the previous year of brain cancer.

Several doctors noticed a dark spot on the younger Mr. Kennedy’s brain scans and concluded that he had a tumor, he said in a 2012 deposition reviewed by The New York Times. Mr. Kennedy was immediately scheduled for a procedure at Duke University Medical Center by the same surgeon who had operated on his uncle, he said.

While packing for the trip, he said, he received a call from a doctor at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital who had a different opinion: Mr. Kennedy, he believed, had a dead parasite in his head.

The doctor believed that the abnormality seen on his scans “was caused by a worm that got into my brain and ate a portion of it and then died,” Mr. Kennedy said in the deposition.

Not only the worm in the brain and all its side effects, but mercury poisoning (how much fish he must eat is the obvious question), and hepatitis.

I'm left speechless. This seems like a Monty Python sketch.

So first you make light of people and several States being devastatingly affected by tornadoes and now you make light of this man's situation.

    How disgusting and low.

Do we conclude his brain is damaged by the worms activity?
Or perhaps that his brain is toxic?
Or that the worm's eggs will hatch with the cicadas?
    All of the above?
    Curious minds want answers.

Making fun of tornado victims, making fun of someone who had a parasite.... Maybe next you can make fun of little leukemia victims?

    Keep it classy Patricio.

If this is true -- then everyone should be tested. I Googled the topic and I see it's nothing to laugh about.

I was just about to say the same thing, guess I don't need to.
I think this thread makes an AMAZING double standard when paired up with this one:

The double standard force is strong with THESE PEOPLE

Depends how many of our candidates for president spend time in the outdoors, swimming or camping, or travelling to countries with low quality water purification. Best I can tell, we tend to elect the sort of people who would consider a hotel without valet service to be the pinnacle of 'roughing it' and would never stoop so low as to swim in a lake or cook over a campfire. Prolly not a high risk of brain parasites among the gilded urban elite class that end up on our ballots.

But if your point is that RFK is unfit for office because of he got a brain parasite from getting dirty with the commoners, I gotta wonder if you've forgotten that Biden has had multiple brain aneurisms, brain surgery and is a prime candidate for strokes -which I'm certain if he had any already, great effort would be made to conceal. Brain damage is brain damage, whether it was caused by a parasite or an aneurism or a stroke. At least parasites tend to be a negative consequence of otherwise positive life experiences like travelling, enjoying nature and exposure to places and cultures that don't (or cant) sanitize everything.

David packman just did a podcast with a dementia expert. She made some interesting observations that it could be also mercury poisoning and or hepatitis C. She also made an observation about how this admission came from a deposition in relation to a work capacity for a divorce settlement. Now if he could not work fully then - so why does anyone think he could be presidential material now?

Faair enough I guess, but you put it in political opinions, not current events. So forgive me for thinking it was political rather than merely an event...

The current event forum is more constrained, that's why I prefer this one, I can quote more than one article, put in any headline i want, etc.

I rarely post in the current event forum.

oh, there's a lot of politicking on the current event forum.
