Cops are paid (*)(*)(*)(*) money to deal with the lowest filthiest people in our society. Many of them put their lives at serious risk on a regular basis, many have been shot at and seriously injured or killed, and many have to live with having taken a life themselves. The very least we can do, if we're going to continue to pay them crap - is to give them rock solid benefits packages, so they don't have to worry about their health care or what happens to their loved ones if they die or whether or not they can make it in retirement - having to worry about getting shot or whether or not you'll have to kill someone today is bad enough.

 

About time. I don't even know why they bother protecting Rep's...just let take care of themselves for awhile and see how the like them apples. They know how to do this in WI, lets hope it catches on.

yeah, I got something to say about this.

I was watching local news last night and they were discussing SB5 which just passed last night and all public safety officials, police, firefighters, EMS, everyone like that is exempt from SB5. It effects only the public service unions like bureaucrats and teachers.

Well the (*)(*)(*)(*) news is interviewing some fire station lead and he out right LIES and says this bill will mean less firefighters, less cops and less paramedics. It was an outright lie because his union is exempt from SB5 and he knows it.

I'm sick of liberals who lie constantly and spread mythology.

 

I think they should also get lifetime benefits at Krispy Kreme!

i think it's high time we started breaking up into liberal and conservative counties and districts. in the liberal counties, we have public schools, public libraries, well-paid cops and firefighters. and in the conservative counties they can take their chances with private security firms like blackwater, and homeschool their kids if they don't have enough money for a 10K-a-year charter school.

Cops aren't even in the top 10 in the most dangerous jobs. If the cops don't like their pay, then quit.

I have often thought of the same thing. States that or Dem, or those that are Repub. It is already kinda like that though. What if you like the area that you live in but your from a different party?
You guys are starting to sound like the fleebaggers you claim the WI Dem filibusters were.

Some people have been with a certain party most of their lives. They have been told the other party is bad, evil, ruining the country. Therefore disagree with anything the other party may have to say even before it is said.
The Repub party used to be the conservative party. It is not any more. They are an arm of corp's bought and paid for. Corp's that could careless about the country or the citizens in it, what they see as slaves. They want to work them for peanuts. The corp's bargaining power, ''then we will just move out of the country''. I say to those who move out of country, charge them a ton of money to bring their product back into the country. If they move to another state, charge them a ton to sell in the state they left.
Many people are coming to realize this. Have had their eyes opened by the flagrant disreguard for anyone but the Corp's. The conservative's left the Repub's a long time ago.
How crazy is it that big corp's, wall street, banks caused the financial mess and they expect those with the least to pay for it? That is just plum crazy. yet corp's are getting bigger tax breaks, more deductions, tax refunds for giving million dollar bonus's to their CEO's instead of being taxed.
The Repub congress has just said if they can't get the budget deal they want, go ahead and shut it down! I say if the corp's don't like paying their fair share, let them go. Then charge more for them to sell to America. Let them sell their product to China who pays slave wages.
Instead of fighting with each other it is time to stand up to the corp's. Don't support them if they pull their bargaining power (which they still get to have) to move else where.
It is the corp's that are the other party now.

Your 100% correct. If a population doesn't know how to properly stick a fist up their own or anothers ass, we cannot and will not succeed as a civilization.

 

I was a police officer for thirty years. Unions are absolutely essential for corrupt, brutal, and incompetent police officers. I never joined a union and didn't wish to be associated with those who did. I did my job, accepted my salary, and had a good life.

Since police officers who don't participate in a union are targets for the thugs and scum, they tend too often to stay quiet.

Why aren't these police out doing their job and arresting people if there are assualts against them and firefighters? I'm not sure I'd reward such derelection of duty. More lazy liberals, who'd a guessed?
