Saudi Arabia, Egypt , Iran and Turkey.

4 muslim countries with significant influence in their region.
All 4 of these regions have conflicting political agenda's and different alliances that sometimes undermine the peace and properity in the middle-east.

Turkey too had enough western imperialism on its backyard, but just like Turkey, Saudi Arabia also suffers the same fate.

Egypt just had a revolution- a revolution that sacked a western supported puppet dictator, and Iran, although seems like a "rogue state" by many but nobody can doubt their cultural and historical contribution to humanity, they are a nation with a proud history.

These 4 countries should lead the way to peace and friendship in the regions future, they should work together more and resolve their differences, because their own people are getting toyed with by powers from outside.

Saudi Arabia has invested tens of millions in Yemen.. and there is NOTHING they can do to stop Iran's activities in Yemen or the Communists fighting al Houthis or Al Qaeda.

I'd slam the border shut and leave them alone... but they will turn into pirates just like in Puntland.

There is NOTHING the Turks can do about Yemen.. Al Qaeda has control of all of South Yemen.. and its probably the most dangerous place on earth now.

AQ is now cutting the hands off children.

Hmm and what would that contribution be in the last...say.. millennium? And while you are at it, what's muslim (not just Iran) contribution to the world in the last 1000 years? As far as I know since muslims introduced (not invented) zero, their contribution to the world was equal to that number. Did I miss anything?

LOL arabs and non-arabs, sunni and shia, NATO members and axis of evil members...they are sure to get along just fine, their populations are learning Kumbaya as we speak:)

Yeah, I know. The Saudis and Americans (and the Euros and the Arabs and the Asians for that matter ) support a brutal dictator because the only viable alternative is Al-Qaeda.

No surprises here, it's a no-brainer, end of thread about Yemen. :D

And? with the looming civil war and these top-notch options is it any wonder the Saudis, the Americans and the rest of the world are supporting the lesser of the evils - the current dictator? Who needs yet another violent fundamentalist muslim brotherhood/al-quada run Egypt or lawless civil war stricken Libya on one's hands?

Yemen has always been a dangerous, lawless place.. and dirt poor as well.

Now there oil business is also shut down.

Libya and Egypt stand a chance.. but I have doubts that Yemen will ever get any better.

The Al Houthis have been fighting with the Zeydi tribe in Northern Yemen forever. .. and it bleeds over into Saudi Arabia.. Iran is too happy to arm them.

Why would a predominantly Shia and Persian country want to dominate Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia doesn't give a fig about dominating Iran..

There is no doubt that Iran wants to have influence in the region; the same goes for Saudi Arabia....

Saudi Arabia has influence and they are a member of the GCC which will soon also include Morocco and Jordan..

Further, Saudi Arabia doesn't want Iranian oil.. nor do they want to rule the Iranian Shia population..

This is a one way street.......
