AIDs is the only politically protected disease on the planet. This is fact. My question is why? The govt protects the disease and its hosts. The govt spends millions fighting the causes of obesity,diabetes,heart disease,lung cancer etc. Why doesnt it fight to stop the CAUSE of AIDs? Why is it protected? Shouldnt the govt demand the bath houses and other places where promiscuity and dangersous sexual activity be sued just like the food industries and tabacco industries are? Either AIDs is a disease/plague or it isnt.

Because in America we don't recognize the needle sharers and homosexuals as industries. Well I guess the minorities are picking up the pace on it now, but we don't classify them as industries either. The fight is in 'real' education, not the trash they teach in schools now.
Why have we stopped teaching sex ed? Why are we teaching abstinence only sex ed? Why not teach about condoms, how STD's are actually transmitted instead of trying so desperately to omit the sex part of sex ed. Why aren't we teaching kids things that may actually save their lives. Nope instead school districts bow to the christofascists and don't teach kids the dangers or unprotected sex. There have been a lot of good PSA commercials in the last few years. Funnily enough, they were sponsored by the condom companies. At least someone is being responsible and trying to put the dangers of unprotected sex. Also, stop trying to blame gays for AIDS. The largest number of infected individuals is heterosexuals women.
No dont ban it!! DUH. Test everyone and isolate those who have it. Its really the only way to stop its spreading. The carriers have already proven themselves to be irresponsible.
So....you propose that the government mandate and require testing of every person in the United States for AIDS- and then set up concentration camps for the millions with AIDS? What a lovely vision you have of America.

An infected person knowingly having any form of intercourse, protected or not, with a non-infected person should be considered attempted murder. If the other person is later diagnosed as HIV positive, the charges should be increased to murder, even before the victim dies. That would at least reduce the number of repeat cases.
Option 3. As has been said, AIDS is spread from person to person and can easily be prevented if people just stop making stupid decisions.
What nonsense. The 'mentally sick people' who get it? You mean the child who gets AID's at birth from its mother is mentally sick? The wife who gets AIDS from her cheating husband? I am in more danger from a person who does not get the Flu vaccine than I am from someone with AIDS. If you know anything about infectious diseases, the real danger is not from AIDS becoming airborne, but from an airborne influenza epidemic like 1918. And no- even in 1918, the government didn't move people with the flu into concentration camps. It is not like we haven't had fatal sexually transmitted diseases before in our history- syphillis has killed far more than AIDS has. We never moved all the syphillitics into concentration camps then. What is the source of your panic about AID's? Frankly, since I am monogamous, and believe my partner is too, it is one of the few diseases that I am completely confident I will never get. I am far more likely to get hit by lightening or eaten by a lion. So why are you in such a panic about it? Such a panic that you are willing to force every person in the United States to be tested, and then spend billions on concentration camps?
No problem, although I could see where you could refer to such at my comments, but the reality is that in America, HIV/AIDS is still predominantly found in very few high risk communities, so the vast majority of the nation is not at risk. The same cannot be said for various other countries, but I speak only of the US in my comments.
You mean the millions upon millions of heterosexuals infected in Africa? Half the continent of Africa will be infected before the end of the next decade.
