If Israel is going to do it, it has to be now according to my thinking.

I came to this conclusion on political grounds. Be aware that the Israeli military view is that if they try to attack Iran, the West will try to bring political pressure on Israel to make them stop immediately because Iran will close the Hormuz straights and upset oil exports.:

1. Jewish diaspora support for Israel is in decline - hence attack now while there is still plenty of support. American Jews are becoming seriously disillusioned with the activities of the thuggish settler movement and the drift of Israel towards a fascist type of state. - See the laws the Likud is trying to get through Knesset they are disturbing and anti democratic. Just Google Peter Beinarts articles in The New York Review Of Books if you want to understand this.

2. Obama and the Republican candidates can be influenced by AIPAC now - but not after the 2012 elections.

3. America will be in financial and social turmoil shortly. This can and will require reductions in military spending. The cost of American participation in bombing Iran will be acceptable now - but not in Six months time.

4. Europe is preoccupied with its own financial and political problems right now and therefore cannot intervene effectively to stop Israel. In Three months a redesigned Eurozone treaty appears. If it works as planned Europe will be stronger and can intervene more effectively to thwart Israel.

5. Then there is the Christmas / New year gap - politicians are at home with their families - coordinated action to stop Israel will take longer, if it happens at all.

6. The General western populations will be too "Holidayed out" to care shortly.

7. Iraqi airspace is open now. It won't be later next year.

8. The American armed forces are either moving back to America or preoccupied with holidays.

Against that:

- The weather is not ideal.

My guess is that Netanyahu will go to war shortly.

I'd feel extremely stupid if it was me who couldn't spell my own forum moniker. I might even make some extremely stupid posts.

Me personaly, what I want? I would like to see USA step over the line and bomb Iran site, and watch how Russians or Chinese or Iran themselves obliterate some US military bases (hopefuly none of our good soldiers get killed of course) and then hope there will be trials for war criminals in America. I do not think it will get to nuke war, but I'm ready for it if they want. people deserve it in a sense for ignoring my message.

Iran wants to be the leader in the region and is poised to lead the charge in the name of hatred for Zionism, which is rampant in the region since even before they were given a country. I understand that $15 a gallon gas is far more important to you than the annihilation of Israel.

Perhaps you could e-mail your government and suggest they also leave the rest of the world out of their intentions to dominate by whatever means possible.

And as for Israel's never ending fear, your e-mail might also suggest that there is no need to terrorise US citizens, on a daily basis, that an attack on the mainland is imminent.

After all, Americans are supposed to be brave. So why the need to introduce fear.
