Obama and the Democrats, obviously to me, had no clue their own red tape, bureaucracy and blizzard of regulations it takes to get any construction project off the ground would help kill their own stimulus. Could they possible have been more pig-headed and incompetent? Then they wonder why companies don't want to build factories and add jobs in the United States.

Example: A friend of mine wanted to put a 10' X 15' concrete slab in his back yard so he could erect one of those prefab metal sheds. He applied for a permit. The inspector told him he would need to add 80' of sidewalk in front of his house, and add a bigger gate in his chain link fence for better fire dept access. The gate was permitted along with the fence when it was built. So let's recap, in order to erect a simple metal shed for garden tools he needed to add 80' of public sidewalk. Inspection fee $100, $375 permit fee, sidewalk 80' X 4" get an estimate from an approved city contractor, add wider gate in place of standard sidewalk width gate $425. So we're at $900 NOT including the cost of the 80'X 4' public sidewalk in front of the house which is sure to run in the thousands before even getting started on the shed to just store garden tools.

This is a private individual, just imaging what permits, inspections, impact studies and engineering reports necessary to complete even the simplest public works project? No wonder the stimulus failed to produce any meaningful amount of jobs. It did however keep the Bureaucrats busy and feed their overinflated feelings of self importance and power.

The Democrats have to go in 2012 if this country is going to get back to work in 2013. If your unemployed and want to work, vote against every single Democrat on the ballot at all levels of Government including city, county, state and federal.
