500,000 troops Obama is gutting troops

Where is the cuts to Obamas special interest groups where is the cuts to Planned parenthood or entitlements.

Obama thinks that his special interest groups are more important than national defense.

Why would you want to make cuts to Planned Parenthood? They provide vital healthcare service to many families.

I don't see the problem with the military budget getting cut by $1 trillion over the next 10 yrs. As I mentioned in the other thread, the military will continue to grow, just at a slower pace. And even then we'll still be outspending the next 10 countries combined! This makes even more sense when you consider the war in Afghanistan will wind down as well in the coming years. We don't need to spend money in the military for the sake of spending.

 

I have no problem making cuts to Planned Parenthood or entitlements. However, I also consider these cuts right for the course. It is time to create a more efficient and technologically advanced military. A large standing army is not necessary anymore.

 

maybe now the USA will stop sticking its nose into the affairs of other nations???? First step in the right direction would be to stop sticking up for the jews.

I agree. Lets just hope that there isn't a massive influx of military retirees. These military personnel need to have opportunities for private sector employment.

 

They are an abortion factory. They can charge for services we can not afford these special interest groups. Instead Obama guts National defense and protects his special interest groups, show how much Obama hates the military and this country.

 

America has never won a war with a "leaner and more agile" military. We've won every war by bringing overwhelming manpower and firepower to the situation and completely destoying the enemy.

Drones, lasers and satellites are wonderful, but if you want to take and keep land you need an infantryman and his rifle.

 

That is almost one fourth of the military. That is gutting the military that is way above and beyond downsizing while Obama protects his special interest groups.

 

Obama wants a weak nation. He hates this country and thinks we are to powerful. He is showing he does not deserve to be President

 

There's a simple solution to this. Defund Planned Parenthood and provide one of two options:

1. Block grant powers and funds of branches in states that want Planned Parenthood.

2. Privatize facilities in states that do not seek block grants.

The military budget (not counting the wars) is about $700 billion a year. The are talking about "cuts" (reductions in growth) of about $45 billion a year.

If they are cutting 1/4 of the manpower because of that, it's because the generals want their fancy hardware, not because of financial necessity.

 

We have 9% unemployment where do you think they will get jobs. They will go from military pay to unemployment. Taxpayers pay either way. This is more deception from Obama that solves nothing

 

9% unemployment there will only be more taxpayer money for unemployment this does nothing

 

For one month, the Air Force bombed Iraq, destroying its defenses and infrastructure.

But the war didn't end until ground forces moved in and took back Kuwait.

 

This will mean more civilian causalities so our enemies can condemn us for that. Bombs are not accurate and collateral damage will be high

Have you ever heard of armed nuetrality? I am sure the President is not advocating such a foreign policy, but having 500,000 troops back in the United States could help us develop such a defense mechanism if we wanted to.

 

How is that any worse than the 500,000 or so government jobs that have been terminated over the past year or so?

 

There are other things. Defund planned parenthood and PBS and NPR and cut all entitlements like you cut the military and then stop all subsidies.

 

No it falls on the commander in chief he has the final say. I wonder if Obama is once again ignoring what the generals advice is.

 

No they will be cut. That is how much he will gut the military. Where would you put 500,000 troops we do not have the facilities for that many troops

We will still have that after the cuts.

You make it sound like we hit Iraq with the WWII style Army Group.
