So, I am probably considered a conservative by most. I guess I am, but honestly, the point of this topic is, why is their so much crap like "Why do Republicans do this awful thing?" or "Why do democrats always whine about this thing?"?

I don't understand what it accomplishes to complain about the other side of a argument. I am not for gay marriage, but I don't whine if 2 guys get married, because it happened, and complaining about it wouldn't achieve me anything or them anything.

My question boils down too: Why is their so much mud slinging but not a lot of strategic discussions? I mean, I see the economy is not doing very great, I don't get angry, I get even. I research fields of study that could pay off best, that will hopefully never become un-employment targets.

I think one of the political maxims in Hardball sums up what we need:

"Don't get mad; don't get even; get ahead." Why waste your time and energy (as a politician) getting angry, or screwing your adversaries? Channel your abilities towards doing what you are obligated to do, making quality laws.

Well once you figure out where to plant your flag.......I think the answers will become obvious.

I have my flag in my yard. Ask me what my stance is, I'll answer.

I think Energy must be obtained from all sources as much as possible. I would think we could find alternate ways to do it, but I know from experience that stuff such as Switch Grass & Corn for Ethanol don't seem to be doing much. They grow switch grass here, and it looks nice, but from what I've read it doesn't seem to be very efficient use of land. I think alternate sources (Solar, Geo-Thermal, Nuclear, Hydro) etc are working. My house is and always has been powered by Hydro.

Maybe it isn't the conservatives that are the problem...maybe it's just the republicans?

So by getting even over watching our economy go down the tubes during the reign of this socialist-in-chief, I assume you'll be voting for the real pro growth businessman/entrepreneur in Mitt Romney to heal our wounded nation.

Ideally we would all debate our separate views and try to come up with a consensus, or at least a field of clearly defined differences. Unfortunately people don't work that way. None of us wants to believe we may be wrong, and most of us will do anything to prove we are right. It becomes a competition, and we often lose sight of the goal we are trying to achieve.

I think it's funny that you characterize Republicans as "doing awful things" and Democrats as whining about things. Most of the threads I read here are the polar opposite.

I do not know. I know I will not be voting for Obama. I will vote probably for anyone that runs against him except Gingrich.

    Blaming others doesn't do anything.

I made examples to whatever I thought of at the time, and I do not care about who does the whining, either way it is negative on fixing anything.

I think that what the OP is talking about is encouraged by people who, above all else, fear the possibility of Americans actually working together rather than against one another.

Blaming others may not resolve the problem, but assessing blame could do wonders. One has to acknowledge the bad behavior before they can begin to address the solution.

I blame the workers who refuse to advance their technical/academic skills to a point useful in the a globalized/non-protectionist economy. They want a cushy job stamping widgets on a factory line and making 90k a year. Those days are dead are never coming back.

Oh please...people WENT to school to acquire the skills that would have provided a future. The corporate profiteers changed the rules and will again. It's all about cheap labor and a fast profit today. The fat cats want quick and easy profit via everybody else. These are the true socialists the right rails against daily. There's no future in quick profit, except for the throat cutters (like PinkSlip Romney).

Its called capilitism, it provides a chance for anyone to become a bigdog in America, use those skills that would have provided a future, to provide a future, then you can make your own rules.

Being right is the only thing that matters, yo.

You ain't anybody if you aren't right.

If you're wrong then you're nobody who should be ignored.

I think your confused, or too dumb to understand Capitilism, its not greed, its spending time and money to make more money, which is what you need to get most things to survive.

Capitalism is a failed venture then if this is the result it has produced on society. Just because a few fat cats can successfully rape a society doesn't mean it isn't all about greed either. GREED. That's what America is known for worldwide (besides being able to invade little brown countries for profit).
