While I often criticize the leftist mainstream media, I have to give them credit at this morning's news conference at the White House. They are holding Trump officials' feet to the fire, asking the tough questions we expect from a free and inquisitive media.

But alas, this is is why I also often refer to them as Democratic Party activists posing as journalists, as proven by how they questioned Obama re the 2013 government shutdown instigated by Republicans.

"Thank you, Mr. President. With Speaker Boehner so far unwilling to hold a vote on a clean CR, what assurances can you give to those affected by a shutdown who are concerned about an even longer impasse? And how worried are you personally that your preferred solution to this clean CR and sequestration levels may do harm to the nation's economy and your second-term agenda?"

"Does China benefit from the chaos in Washington? And then more broadly, you've said in general that this hurts the reputation of the United States overseas. Are there specific things that you can point to where you already have seen some damage?"

Softball questions posed by sympathetic "reporters" to ensure Obama is able to get the Democratic Party narrative about the shutdown out.

This is why normal Americans have finally realized the overwhelming leftist bias they've heard about coming from the mainstream media is accurate...
