Yep, I believe that is the only possible plan on the table. I think there is zero chance we would attempt an invasion of Iran. I really doubt that Iran would retaliate by trying to invade Iraq to get to us. With our air and armor power plus airborne surveillance, Iran would have little chance of even crossing the border.

Probably the biggest risk of us taking out Iran's nuke facilities would be Iran lobbing missiles at Israel.
That's more difficult than it sounds. Iran has learned from Saddam's mistakes and has spread its nuclear program over a large area, with much of it in areas heavily populated by civilians -- making surgical strikes difficult or impossible without heavy casualties. The greater the number of casualties, the greater the chance that civilians will support the government. In addition, bombing existing sites potentially postpones development, but certainly doesn't stop it -- regime change may be the only long term solution.
I've read the same and agree it won't be easy. But if diplomacy fails we will be left with no other viable options, assuming our policy is to not allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. Even if we can't get every facility it will hopefully be enough to set them back a few years.

I also agree regime change is the way to go. I just can't see us imposing it the way we have in Iraq.
