...for the sake of asking, myopicmouse.
From observation, I can offer up two former classmates who found that they liked cocaine. I'm not sure if they were typical or not. But it took both of them out of a fine university and to new lows in their lives. Both the girl and the guy I knew seemed really happy and energetic while on the stuff, but they were prone to nasty mood swings and depression when they didn't have it.
The guy disappeared back to Argentina - never heard from him again (though I know he wound up in rehab). The girl ended up in rehab and finally got it together. She's now a doctor and was married to a famous (or infamous) sports figure in the U.S. several years ago. One of my tenants was a nurse who got on heroin. When I evicted her for nonpayment, I barely recognized her. I had a couple of other tenants who were on coke. One of them is the fellow who attacked me and I nearly killed him trying to avoid getting stabbed. This is bad stuff, dude!

Maybe because I haven't been
Experienced (as Jimi said), I'm not providing accurate info. But I don't know any happy drug user stories.
If you handed me a pistol with 100 chambers loaded with only 1 bullet, I still wouldn't play Russian Roulette. Why not? Why would I want to take a chance for nothing to gain? What's making you think of such a thing?! Meet a nice girl and fall in love. I believe that will make you feel better than any drug. When she leaves you, takes your stuff and still wants money from you, then it's OK to start drinking and doing drugs (uh, you know I'm kidding, right?!).
