though seriously...you got rid of people for dope!? is that a/legal b/ would you throw people out for alcohol consumption?
I actually evicted them for nonpayment of rent, though my warning letters included a statement about noise and excessive traffic complaints.

If they'd done their thing quietly, neither I nor the other tenants would have known or had a problem with it. I've rented to a lot of people where I don't agree with their chosen lifestyle. And no, I wouldn't evict someone who drank or did drugs... or anything else, unless they violated some provision of the signed lease. Some of the first properties I bought were in rough areas. My best deal was on a property inhabited by a weed dealer... near a school. I couldn't prove anything. He always paid his rent on time, so I was stuck for a way to get him out. So I had a friend of mine park his squad car in front of the duplex on his off-shift, and dried up the old boy's business. Moved out on his own... can't imagine why.

A lot of cities and the Feds cracked down on property owners in the late 80's/early 90's. If you allowed illegal activity to take place on your property, they'd try to seize it from you. They mostly went after cheap motels (hookers and dope dealers), but I know of a few people who lost houses and duplexes.

I never felt good about tossing out a drug head. But the way I see it, they did it to themselves. Pay me on time and don't cause me or the other tenants any grief... I'm not a bad guy to rent from (or so I tell people ).

Save up for that Barrett .50 cal - don't waste your money on this junk.
