Default Rugby isn't a common sport in the U.S.

It's akin to lacrosse...another support that requires supreme athleticism and stamina...

The average little boy or girl in the U.S. is playing 1) soccer, 2) little league, 3) football, 4) basketball. Most high schools in the U.S. don't HAVE rugby teams, so it follows that our unis would have a much smaller pool of talent to recruit from when it comes to filling their rosters than they do when recruiting for the big 4 in the U.S.
