Only appeals to those who have nothing. It's a sham (like those get-rich quick schemes) to win over the people with promises of economic equality and wealth for all. Once you brainwash them, you can then institute a totalitarian regime and oppress the people for decades.

Really, communism has failed many times over. Why do people still insist that a "next time" will produce better results?
