Default Right and wrong

Well you are right that Harry's Reid comments were dumb. But your jump to all liberals should be voted out of office is just your partisian opinion. How about that Harry Reid should be voted out of office is at least somewhat more logical from your arguement, even though you still would be ignorant basing it on one statement.

I assume if this is your big issue, that you then voted for Al Gore because he wanted to put social security payments into a "lock box" to keep the rest of government from spending them.

People in general have known the social security system is heading for a problem for a long time, both liberals and conservatives. And what we got from the republicans was an even dumber idea, let's pull more money out of the system and try to inflate the stock market with it. And then when everyone lost their retirement in this latest crash, that would have been a brilliantly idiotic idea.

Let's face the facts, social security can not survive in it's current structure. Either even more money will have to be put in via increased taxes, which is criminal because people have put enough money in from their paychecks, the government just stole it. Or benefits need to be cut, which is criminal because peole have put enough money in from their paychecks, but the government just stole it. Or the third option is the government needs to stop stealing money from the social security system and start paying it back, by stopping spending on other stuff. For example, if the military was cut in half and the money given to social security and to balance the budget, then we would be fine.
