Quote:
Me: If I get the same benefits whether I work or not, why should I work? What if I dont care about the common good and just want to sit on my ass all day?
Than you dont diserve/get anything.
|
So people ARE forced to work then, right?
Who determines what their job is?
Who determines if they are working as hard as the next guy?
In a capitalist society, wages determine this. If you work harder, you will likely advance faster. How is this determined in a commie society?
Quote:
Me: So the masses should not even have the option of voting for a "bourgeois" representative?
There would be no bourgeois to vote for.
|
Ok...how about candidates that want to bring back private land ownership. Could the masses vote for them?
Quote:
Me: Does everyone get absolutely equal exposure (advertising)? If so, how is this determined?
By equally dividing advertisement.
|
So all 250,000 people in the US could get equal advertisement? Kind of expensive dont you think?
And if they all dont get wide exposure, is that really fair? Shouldnt ALL ideas get wide exposure to make sure that people can pick the best choice?
Who gets to define what "euqal" is in this context?
Quote:
Me: Under communism, workers do not necesarily receive what they are worth. Is the laborer worth the same as a manager, even though his work is physically harder?
The difference is in wages.
|
But I thought you said everyone would be equal...wouldnt that mean equal wages as well?
And you didnt answer my question...
who determines what labor is worth?
Quote:
Me: Who determines what labor is worth?
Its determined by how hard one labors.
|
So there is some kind of magical fearie that determines how hard one person is laboring as opposed to another?
Everyone has a different opinion on what constitutes hard labor...therefore you will need someone or something to determine the level of labor. This is an example of the minutia you people refuse to answer, and why no one takes you seriously. This is an example of the "we'll figure it out later" theory of communism.
So if I make the claim I am laboring harder than you, thats all it takes for me to get higher wages in your society?
Quote:
Me: Even if we assume that the "workers" receive everything, that is still not necessarily fair. Right?
Wrong, the capitalist class will be put into the worker class making everyone a worker.
|
But some people will be doing manual labor, and some people will be doing management. Who determines which job I have to do?
If the workers own everything, it does not necessarily make it fair, because I might be getting less wages than someone else, even though I am working harder.
Quote:
Me: If some of the workers dont think the system is fair, how can there be solidarity?
The system is fair.
|
Your opinion alone determines if the system is fair or not? Oh yeah, thats not totalitarian at all.
Quote:
Me: Who gets to determine what is taught in the schools?
Only the necessary will be taught.
|
Who determines what is necessary?
Oh yeah.. "we'll figure it out later"
Quote:
Me: You dont know that...The US is the most powerful/wealthiest/technologically advanced nation that has ever existed, and it is not socialist or communist.
Japan has defeated us technologicaly, China is the wealthiest, and we are losing power.
|
If Japan defeated us technologically, why are they still buying our computers? Where is their space shuttle? What little military they have is horribly inferior to our military technology.
China is
not the wealthiest...you need to do some research. They have HALF our GDP...despite the fact that they have 5 times our population. The US is the wealthiest nation by a wide margin. -

What exactly leads you to believe that Japan is more advanced and China is wealthier? Please post your source for this.
Quote:
Me: That is not true. The standard of living is increasing, not decreasing. Would you rather live in America now or the America in 1950? Things are getting better, not worse.
Better for companies, not workers.
|
So is your answer that you would rather live in the America of 1950 than America today? Why are you afraid to answer that question?
Quote:
Me: No, because Capitalism encourages creativity and give an incentive to produce. That is why commie nations are always going to be poor compared to capitalist nations. Capitalist nations advance faster.
Untrue, Russia & China did in 20 yrs what America did in 100.
|
So why is America still so far ahead of both of them? They've both been around longer, right?
Quote:
Me: By limit bureaucracy how?
Destroying it.
|
Thats a non answer...again, you have no answer for HOW you are going to get anthing done. "We'll figure it out later".
Quote:
Me: What if the masses choose to add to the bureaucracy?
Why would they?
|
Would it even be an option for them?
I cant imagine why anyone would choose communism either...but it IS an opinion in our society. There are commie parties.
Quote:
Me: Who gets to decide who is included in your human rights?
Natonal vote.
|
So if the majority of people say that homos dont get human rights, you are ok with that?
Quote:
Me: Pedophiles, for example, feel oppressed right now. Would you include them?
No.
|
Why not? And wouldnt that be up to the majority though, if it is a vote?
Quote:
Me: If not, why?
Why do you think?
|
I cant read your mind and dont want to put words in your mouth. Thats why I am asking you. I take it you dont have an answer. It's something I am getting used to with your posts.
Quote:
Me: We can vote for whoever we want. Under your system, we seem to be able to vote only for "approved" candidates. Who approves them though?
The majority.
|
So how is that any different from what we already have now?
