Yea similar skills sets for pilots and drivers.. 360o situational awareness, quick relexes and good hand/eye/brain coordination. Muscle strenght is required but more for endurance.

Lack of professional female drivers is also like you said.. it's been a male dominated sports. Plus theres not that many seats in the top levels of motorsports (probably less than 300 worldwide).
